I have a Crossroads Cruiser 5th wheel that one of the front landing jacks stopped working, the other works fine, they are driven by the same motor. could something be stripped out

Although you did not mention if it is the lead or follow leg that is not working, if it is the follow leg it may be that you have an issue with the gearbox and would need to replace it with Replacement Aluminum Gearbox # LG-179015 which will work with Stromberg Carlson landing gear as well as Lippert and Venture.
Another option that could work is using a repair kit such as the Lead Jack Repair Kit for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-146059 or Follow Jack Repair Kit # LG-146060 depending on what jack is not working and what landing gear you have.
These repair kits will give you replacement gears and pins for the legs that would allow you to make repairs and possibly get the leg working again.
