Features to know about

Smooth, Fast Setup: Electric Power That Handles the Heavy Work

Setting up camp or getting ready to move shouldn’t mean endless cranking. This electric landing gear uses a 360-watt, 12-volt DC motor that lifts at about 2-1/2" per minute, giving you quick and steady movement. With a single motor it handles 2,500 lbs per leg, and dual motors boost that to 5,000 lbs per leg—plenty of strength for loading or leveling without the effort of a manual system.

Built to Upgrade or Replace: Fits Most Atwood and Venture Systems

If you’re replacing old landing gear, this kit is designed to make the swap simple. The gearbox works with single- and dual-motor setups and connects easily using an extendable cross shaft that adjusts from 41" to 72-3/4". The distance between weld stops—19-1/2" inside to inside—is made to work with most existing brackets, so you can reuse what’s already on your trailer frame or weld on the included new mounts if needed.

Steady Support on Any Surface: Large Footplates and Drop-Leg Design

Once you’re parked, stability matters. Each leg features a drop leg that adds 15" of travel, reducing time spent adjusting or holding down the button. The large rectangular footplates spread out the load for solid footing even in soft ground. Combined with sturdy steel construction and a corrosion-resistant black powder coat finish, this setup stays steady and resists wear over time.

Simple Controls and Backup Options: Electric Lift with Manual Override

The included toggle switch lets you control lift right from your electrical setup, and fuse-protected wiring keeps things safe around propane tanks or other sensitive gear. If power ever goes out, the manual crank handle gives you full control so you can still raise or lower as needed. It’s a reliable power system that keeps working no matter where you’re set up.

Strong Foundation for Everyday Use: Proven Lippert Landing Gear Design

These legs give your trailer a solid feel once parked and are built for long-term dependability. With 34-3/4" of total lift and durable steel tubes measuring 2-1/2" wide and 33-1/2" long, the system provides excellent stability for setup or storage. Whether upgrading from a worn set or switching from manual to powered operation, it’s a tough, well-built foundation that makes every setup easier.

Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Lippert Landing Gear

John: Hey guys. John here from etrailer.com. And today we're going to take a look at the Lippert fifth wheel landing gear. It's rated for 5,000 pounds. It features a electric motor that's rated for 5,500 RPM. And it's going to have a 19-3/4 inch lift.

The Lippert 5,000 pound landing gear comes with two different configurations. One, with the weld stops located on the outside of the leg, and then also where the weld stops are located on the inside part of the leg. This is important to note where the location of the weld stops is, because depending on where your bracket is mounted on your fifth wheel, that's going to determine where you need that weld stop located. This is going to already be welded onto your frame of your fifth wheel. And then it's going to secure around your landing gear leg with the bolt. The outer tube is going to have a height here of 33-1/2 inches.

The weld stops here on the side, you're going to want to make sure that this measurement either from the inside to inside, or outside to outside, matches up with what you currently have on your fifth wheel. And for this landing gear that's going to be 19-1/2 inches inside the inside, or 21-1/2 inches outside to outside. This foot plate is a little bigger than normal, which is going to be really great for if our ground is a little soft, it helps to provide more stability. The total length is going to be eight inches, and the width here is going to be about five inches. One nice thing I'd like to point out about this, is that the foot that you can lower with the foot plate on it, you can actually tilt this or spin this plate, and secure it this way. So in case you're going to get more stability, better stability with the foot plate pointing that way as opposed to front and back. You can lower the inner leg here by removing this pin on the top.

This then allows the lower leg to come down. And you can read insert your pin, whatever height adjustment you need for where you're pulling your camper into. These are one inch increments here between the holes, so this makes it easier so you don't have to wait as long for when you're trying to level out your trailer. You can simply lower the leg. There is a quick release option here that we have at etrailer.com, that's spring loaded and allows you to lower the leg a lot quicker and not have to sit here and manually do it, and figure out where the pin's located. If you're going to be using this landing gear to replace your current electric landing gear, you'll simply tie in the two wires to your power and ground functions.

Otherwise, the kit does come with a control here. You have it retract and extend, which will raise and lower your foot. Four wiring connections here, two will be to your electric motor, two will be to your battery. And it does have a fuse here tied in to help protect your wiring. One of the nice things about this kit is that it does come with a manual override, which is going to be helpful for if you lose power to your landing gear. You're still going to be able to extend and retract the legs if need be. Simply put it on the shank here, and then you can rotate it to extend and retract the legs. Now this kit does come with four replacement mounting brackets, and the hardware to secure your landing gear to it. This is useful for if you're adding new landing gear to your RV, or maybe the mounting brackets that you have on there now are damaged somehow. So this bracket's going to be welded onto your trailer frame, and then it's either going to go above or below the weld stop here. And the bolt's just shouldn't go through the hole. And the nut's going to secure it on the other side.A similar option we have here at etrailer.com is the Stromberg Carlson LG-4. It has similar lift and dimensions, but it does have a higher weight capacity at 6,500 pounds per set. And it has a faster electric motor. In my opinion, I would go with the LG-4 because it's going to perform a little better and it's going to last a little longer. This is where your fifth wheel landing gear is going to be located up in your front storage compartment. As you can see, it's welded here to the side of the frame. When we're talking about motorized fifth wheel landing gear, you have two different options. One is a single motor application, which it looks like they have here. And that's going to be one motor on the side of it, which is going to operate both legs. And then you're going to have a dual motor application, which is going to operate the legs independently. One of the things you're going to need to also take note of on your fifth wheel landing gear, is the location of the weld stops, not just the measurement. So on this specific application, the weld stops are located on the outside of the leg itself. Sometimes you're going to need to have the weld stop located on the inside of the fifth wheel landing gear, and that just depends on what kind of space and room you have, and where it's mounted on your specific fifth wheel landing gear. That's going to do it for a look at the Lippert fifth wheel landing gear, rated for 5,000 pounds. Thanks for watching.

Info on the etrailer site gave me confidence that I bought the correct landing gear for my RV + and it was perfect! Order even arrived two days early.

by:

It took about a week for me to receive the landing gear. I paid extra for express delivery although I actually received a day later than they said I would by regular delivery. The box was torn up and I was missing some parts but made it work by using some of my old parts. Other than that, everything was okay……at least it fit.

by:

I ordered my landing legs complete package Lippert LC 333964 for my 2007 Keystone Raptor 299 m. It had everything to replace my complete landing legs. Etrailer is the best company I’ve ever did business with. Shipping was real fast. They returned emails within minutes. They are my go to trailer parts store. Thank you so very much. Les

Landing jacks came in a box that was in rough shape. Nothing was wrapped and all metal pieces were stacked and scratched up including the motor.

Had to modify landing jacks to be able to bolt on to the already installed mounts. Other than that everything fit as it should. Due to the price and how poorly this system shipped. I would not recommend.

The item was delivered on time. I checked and there were no missing parts. The landing gear set fit perfect and appears to be well made. Installation instructions were not included. Whether or not you are experienced with installation of this system, I believe instructions should always be included.

by:

It came quick and installed very easy definitely recommended them, they were great company to work with

My fifth wheel landing gear needed replacement. One side would not work. No information on my unit. However, Rochelle of E-Trailers did research to determine a replacement unit. Was shipped to California in 3 days and I installed. Perfect fit !! Thank you Rochelle. Awesome Customer service and great quality.

Not a hard project for someone younger than me. It seems to work and interchange with the old one. I have yet to try the hand crank. I had to jack trailer up in order to work on it with floor jack and blocks. I'm not sure if the hand crank would pick it up. However, I am happy with the product and will get it a full blown test in June 2020 to see if it holds up. I don't expect any problems.

Purchased for my 2010 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 285 RLD. The original Jack Leg collapsed. I ordered this set to replace the complete Jack Leg System. I upgraded the capacity for added assurance and they fit perfectly. The system runs a little bit slower than the original but that is caused by the different gear ratio for the increased capacity. A few extra seconds of time is an easy trade off for the increased capacity security. A great product from a great company.

by:

This landing gear has worked great. Unfortunately it was a bigger job than we were willing to undertake but luckily found a mobile repair service to install it for us. We have had no problems since then.

by:

I would give five stars if the product came with instructions and packaged better. Box came like it was taped up by 2 year old. Parts loose and hardware loose. Jacks did work fine.

by:

The landing gear worked perfectly as a direct replacement to my existing landing gear. One of the legs of the existing landing gear had failed so I decided to replace the entire unit. Everything worked great. Although it wasn’t very difficult to figure out how things were to be put together, there were no installation instructions. It took about two hours of wrench time plus an hour of unpacking, setup, and clean up to replace the entire unit.

by:

Great replacement of landing gear that was no longer working correctly on our ole trailer. Was a pretty simple replacement once logistics of supporting trailer and accessing with generator compartment partially in the way. I no longer have the fear of be able to re-hitch if I need to lower for leveling purposes. Thanks etrailer you guys have been great with all my DIY trailer projects.

by:

Parts arrived promptly and in good condition. Tracking kept us informed about delivery so we could still enjoy camping. Phone assistance was knowledgeable and concise. Will continue to ship etrailer. Thanks!

by:

I installed the jacks on my 23 ft. 5th wheel trailer, which was very simple and ran the electric wires direct to my battery compartment. The jacks work fine but are a bit too noisy for my liking. Not sure if all are this noisy but they do the job.

by:

I really can't say a lot about the product quality at this time since I just got it installed. It was (I believe) drop shipped to me from the factory. When I received and installed the land gear assembly it kept binding regardless of if I was raising or lower the landing gear rendering it unusable. I contacted the folks at etrailer and was helped by their technician Wayne H. With his help we were able to discover the problem and that was that the factory sent me two leading landing gear legs instead of a (1) leading leg and one following leg. etrailer sent me a replacement following landing gear leg and I installed it today. Once again the electric landing gears on my 5th wheel worked just like they did when the trailer was new. I will definitely be doing business with etrailer in the future and do recommend them to anyone needing parts for a trailer.

by:

Easy to install and great product! Etrailer got it here on time as usual!

by:

If you are installing this on a Dutchman Denali that’s around the year 2007 the lead leg is an absolute pain in the butt to change. The propane set up is right in the way of the bolts that need to come out.

by:

New landing gear for my 2012 Cougar 5th wheel. Delivered on time (box was pretty beat up) all the parts were there and it was a perfect fit! Installed it myself in about 1 1/2 hours
Bonus, it was cheaper than at Amazon.
Highly recommend e
trailer !

by:

Install was pretty straightforward, but it’s disconcerting how noisy this landing gear is. For the price point you’d think they’d have used a quieter motor. Also the bar that connects the two sides was not powder coated as the one I removed was so I used the one I took out. For being stainless steel (?), the new replacement one sure started to rust fast. After sitting outside one night in the damp air it has small rust spots on it. I just hope these last at least as long (10 years) as the OEM ones I am having to replace.

by:

Customer service was awesome. Parts arrived and appear to be as ordered. I haven't had a chance to install them yet so no review on how they actually fit and work.

by:

Received the Kit in about four days (5 Stars for etrailer). The shipping container was severely damaged (2 stars for UPS), but at least it arrived. Did not appear any parts were missing. I ordered this kit because it was less expensive for the complete kit then to replace both landing gear legs separately. I left the 5th wheel attached to the truck and removed the old landing gear, gearbox, and motor prior to the arrival of the new system. Keep all your parts. The new kit arrived and was very easy and straight forward to install. However the tubular steel expansion rod that connects both landing gear legs was too short. I had to use the my old connection rod. Also the spacer used for the inside of the large side of the connection rod was not included with the kit. Had to use the old spacer in the old connecting rod. I used my old landing gear foot plates and pull pins on both landing gear leg extensions. Once installed, the kit worked flawlessly. I placed red marker tape on the landing gear extensions so not to top out the legs when lifting. Again save all your old parts.

by:

Overall quality looks to be as good as the OE.Only problem was with the handling from UPS as box corner was torn and the cross bar was exposed (no damage) also the switch button was loose in the box (was able to snap back into place) I haven't installed it yet,but I'm sure it will be fine. Again thank you Etrailer and Joy for your quick delivery
