How to Mount a Thule Cascade Cargo Box to Aero Crossbars on a 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:
How can I mount this older box? I had it on a car with square thule bars. The box holes line up with the cross bar locations, I could use the plates inside/top and outside/bottom but the bolts are too long. Just get shorter bolts at hardware store? The plates are not a perfect match, is there a better clamp system that matches the profile of the cross bars on the new Outback?

Yes, in order to attach the Thule Cascade Cargo Box to your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend using the Replacement Hardware Kit part # TH05603. The u-bolts included with this kit are designed specifically for aero crossbars and will work well for you. The dimensions of the u-bolt are attached for you so you can make sure the holes line up but if not you can always drill new ones.
