Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package, which is located in your cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the scuff panel and the cargo holder to access this port. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, insert the included 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

Working just great. The only thing I did while installing it was the bracket for the wire plug I did not use the screws that were provided because they were steel and would rust so I used stainless steel

One year later and still working without a problem. It was so easy to install this kit following the video. It is one of the very few DIY projects that took less time than I expected.
Simple plug and play. YouTube did help with locating the proper connection points and fuse location. Very easy overall!

Easiest plug and play wiring I’ve ever had to install. Lights work perfect.
I bought the Hitch, wiring harness and a bicycle rack for our 2018 Honda Pilot.
The wiring harness was missing from the order and I never followed up on the missing harness since I mainly use the hitch only for the bike rack.
Can you still make this right and send the wiring harness. I'd like to use the hitch to tow a small trailer so I could really use the harness now. Thank You

Flawless, but light use.
Purchased the wiring harness along with the receiver in case of pulling a trailer, but haven't had a need to install the wiring yet; haven't towed my trailer this season. Only used the receiver to haul bikes on a hitch bike rack. The wiring harness is a simple installation and can very easily be installed within 10 mins.
The harness is great. But the information said it comes with a grommet to pass under vehicle through where the jack is. Other than that. etrailer is awesome, bought hitches in the past and now wire harness. 100% recommend etrailer.

Harness has worked out fine. No issues.
Receiver and wire harness installed in 20 minutes
The hitch, harness, and tester are fantastic. I cleaned, lubed, tested the weld nuts. I used a reinforced cardboard box 9x11x16 and a flat piece of cardboard to slide the hitch under the passport. I then lifted one side and put the 16" side of box under it. I then lifted the other side off the ground and got one bolt partially on, before doing the same on the side that was sitting on the box. With one bolt on each side the rest was easy.
I used a torque wrench (the pointer type) to snug it down.
It was easy to get it in place by myself, but the hard part was torquing it down. You have to apply a decent amount of force, and there isn't much room to swing a wrench. The two bolts (one on each side) closest to the front, are partially obstructed by the exhaust. As a result, you can't use an extension on those two bolts. I was lucky I had a 12 point socket, and made a bunch of small swings.
The harness was easy too. I tried to do it without taking off the side panel, but was unable to SAFELY blindly cut the tape holding the connector, so I popped off the door sill panel and side panel, which was easy after I watched several online videos. I used the included zip ties and double sided tape to make sure nothing rattles, and verified it worked using the tester before popping the panels back on.
I prolly wasted 15 mins trying to accomplish this without pulling off the side panel, but I am glad I took it off, because the extra space made securing everything easy, and ensure that any rattling coming from the back of my passport isn't because of me.
There is a gap between the storage box and the metal frame (under the door sill / threashold plate). I used the foam tape to secure the black box to the metal (covering one of the oval cutouts) and left the wiring loosely rolled in the gap, with the tester attached to it (so I don't loose it).
Just be careful not to strip the Philips head screw under the anchor point. I used my 18v drill on low speed break it loose. I used a number 2 Philips bit, but the bit looked small compared to screw head, if I did it again I would use a larger bit.
In the end, the hitch looks great, the wire harness is out of way (until I need it) the hands free / kick motion door sensor still works, and it cost a song a dance compared to the oem hitch. In fact, I also ordered the 65" Malone roof rack (been waiting a week for that to leave the warehouse, another story) all for under $500, and both are made in USA. Compared to oem hitch, I can have hitch, roof rack, AND fancy bicycle rack that won't rust and fade like my current bike rack.

Always a successful and easy installation with your products
Great product that arrived earlier than expected. If you follow the video on etrailer associated with this product, you can't go wrong. I did find an extra pair of hands helpful to pull out the side panel when I both put in the ground screw and clipped in the module. But not essential. Personally, I did not find it necessary to remove the panel beneath the back seats because I could easily pull out the side panel far enough with just the lift hatch panel removed. I also opted not to attach the control module with sticky tape up and out of site. It did not adhere well to the plastic. Letting it "hang" gave me easy access if needed especially to the 10 amp fuse. But I did feed the attachment wires down into the jack compartment. Finally, put the 30 amp fuse into the slot labeled TRL MAIN. Shown on video
Finally, the little connector I purchase for $7 was worth it.
