Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at this Thule replacement carriage bolt. This is going to replace one lost or damaged M6 by 75 millimeter carriage bolt for your Thule roof box. The head diameter is 5/8ths of an inch and the measurement of the square underneath the head is 0.234 inches. Now, this carriage bolt is exactly like the one that you are needing to replace. It is directly from Thule, so you can trust that it's going to fit right in place of the original. You're not going to have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that.

They are still working great. They do have some surface rust on them as they stay on my truck year round in the PNW (it tends to rain a little bit here) but it in no way affects them. I used these to mount some used Thule Dock Glide kayak saddles to my Thule Xsporter Pro truck rack. I needed longer bolts for the cross bars of the Xsporter and these are just about perfect length-wise.
I looked for longer M6 x 75mm carriage bolts so I could use existing kayak cradles on the larger bars of my new Thule Xsporter Pro Rack. Local hardware retailers didn't have what I needed and neither did other online hardware suppliers. I was thrilled to find what I was looking for at etrailer.com. I have a Nissan Xterra and the crossbars are quite thick. The longest bolts that came with my Thule kayak rack still were not long enough. These 3” bolts fit perfectly, plus they arrived a day earlier than predicted!

The carriage bolt was shipped quickly and the product was proper length and thread as described though the shoulder, the square part under the head, was undersized as compared to the Thule original. This causes it to slip as it is tightened in the roof carrier supports.

Thanks for reaching out. In terms of follow-up, the bolt still works ok, but the issue I mentioned in my review still remains. The square part under the flange is not the same size as the Thule original hardware. This still results in slipping as it is tightened.
I needed the extra length bolts for my Thule J rack kayak carriers to fit my square bar Malone Ecolight trailer. Works great! The first set of bolts were short because they were mislabeled by Thule , no fault of etrailer. I contacted etrailer and they immediately sent out the right ones.
I purchased these carriage bolts to attach my existing kayak carrier to my new Thule Aeroblades. The original bolts were too short for the new system. These bolts worked perfectly.

These bolts fixed my problem and have held up with no problems.
My Thule Rooftop Cargo Box is 15+ years old and the carriage bolts had rusted so bad I used a bolt cutter to remove them. I searched local hardware stores and the big box retailers (HD & L) but no one had the pieces I needed to replace them. I resigned myself to adapting the attachments and rigging up something that would work.
On a whim, I searched for Thule Replacement parts on the web (I know, I should have done that first) and eTrailer came up with exactly what I needed!
Within a few days I had the parts in hand and the Cargo Box is good as new! I'll be coming back when it comes time order a hitch...eTrailer is a great find!
It is a perfect replacement for needing extended length bolts to fit Thule Kayak racks over newer roof rack bars. I originally had a 2003 VW Golf with OEM roof rack. Now I have a 2010 VW Golf that must have taller bars because when I went to put Kayak holders on it would not fit with longest bolts it came with. These bolts from etrailer fit perfect like original and can still use the original 3 wing knobs (nuts) with the bolt.
I bought 8 carriage bolts to fit a Thule Kayak stacker on Yakima HD cross bars. The bolts arrived exactly in the time frame given and even though this was a small order, I received top notch service from my order to delivery. Just what I needed- can swap out my Thule hull-aports readily!
I ordered these bolts as longer replacements for the stock ones that came with my rooftop box. They worked as expected and I'm now using the box on my forth vehicle since I purchased it. Apparently it lasts longer than the cars.
More importantly to me though, is the service from etrailer. Stellar! I received my items quickly and within time to make a trip we had planned. Thank you!
My Chevy removable roof rails (thicker than standard roof rails) required a longer carriage bolt for the Thule J-Racks I had for my kayaks.. Thule had 50 and 65mm length bolts but I had to search online for longer (I was able to use the hand tightening nuts that came with the racks, which is why I stuck with the 6mm diameter bolt).. was psyched when they arrived promptly using standard shipping and was finally able to haul my kayaks down to the bay to spend an afternoon with my teenaged son on the water.. Thanks guys..
The bolts were exactly as described and what I needed to modify my Thule bike racks to accommodate the roof racks of my new car. The only negative—not eTrailer’s fault—was that the post office lost the package for 3 days.
Purchased a new vehicle and had to add thicker cross bars- thus my kayak J racks no longer fit as the carriage bolts were too short. Went to both big box retailers- no joy. Lucky enough to discover this company that had exactly what I needed at a very fair price. Came as promised with great customer service and work like a charm. It was great to be able to repurpose my racks for a couple dollars.
Great service! The 75mm carriage bolts let me use my Thule kayak carrier on the roof rack I have on my car. The shorter bolts that come with the kayak carrier are just a little too short for the “fat” crossbars on my roof rack, so the 75mm bolts were just what I needed.
The Replacement Carriage Bolt - M6 x 75mm worked on the Thule Hull-a-Port Kayak Carrier. I would have thought Thule would have added them to the boxes since it is there product. The included bolts will not work on the Thule WingBar Evo Load Bars. Only the longer bolts will. Thanks etrailer for having these bolts!

Exactly what I needed! Both carriage bolt size options that were included in my Thule 835XT Hull-A-Port Rooftop Kayak J racks were not long enough to fit on my Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars. These longer bolts gave me enough clearance to safely fit them on my system. Perfect. Thanks for the quick shipping.
