Question:
I have a utility trailer that i would like to add brakes to. It currently has 4 pin wiring and lights. It has a 3500lb axle that is stamped Dexter Axle P-15 Model SLR. What hardware would be required to add brakes to this axle?

For your Dexter P-15 3500 lb axle, I recommend starting with the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # 23-468-469. These assemblies will mount directly to the 4 bolt flange on your axle using the included hardware.
For your drum hubs, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3 if you don't have the spindle with the built in grease zerk. If you do have the EZ Lube spindles with the built in grease zerk, then I recommend using # 84546UC3-EZ instead.
Then for your trailer brake wiring and wiring conversion, I recommend the # HS381-9000 junction box with 7-way cable. Then 10-1-1 wire for your brake assemblies. You can use ring terminals # 44-5310A for this application.
Then for your tow vehicle you will need to add a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195. If you let me know your tow vehicle I can help you with what parts you may need to be compatible with your upgraded utility trailer.
