Video Transcript for Review of InfiniteRule Trailer Coupler Locks - Coupler Lock - IR56FR

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this InfiniteRule Lock for the two inch Demco eZ-Latch trailer coupler. And for demonstration purposes, I did pull one of those Demco eZ-Latch couplers just to show you what we're talking about. But you can see this has the eZ-Latch design, so you open that latch, hook up to your ball, and then close the latch to lock it into place, and again, open it to remove it. But this coupler latch lock right here, this will keep that latch from opening, secures your trailer to your ball mount. This lock is a nice heavy-duty stainless steel construction.

On the inside, it has a nice weather resistant tethered dust cap on it to keep water and debris out of the keyway, comes with the two keys. So once you put your key in there, you just twist this like you're loosening a bolt, and when you twist it far enough, the lock will come apart into two pieces just like that. And what you'll wanna do is take this in, and there's a pinhole right here down here on the latch or on the coupler, slide the pin all the way through, comes through down the other side, and then what you'll do is line your lock up and then line your pinhole up. And once you get them all lined up, push it together, and then what you'll wanna do is go ahead and start tightening it like you're tightening a bolt, if you noticed, it closes it. Once you get it completely closed, and what you'll do is go ahead and slide your key out, put your dust cap over there, and then it's locked into place.

So even if somebody grabs this latch and tries to open it, you can see it doesn't allow that latch to open. So if you're hooked onto a ball on a trailer or the ball's hooked to your ball mount, it's not coming off there. If there's nothing hooked in there, if this isn't hooked to a ball mount, it'll keep you from connecting to a ball mount, so this lock will protect anybody from taking your trailer. And then to remove it, just pop open your dust cap, put in your key, and then just twist it like you're unscrewing it. And once you get it, comes right apart just like that.

Now, this is made in the USA. Application again we mentioned is Demco eZ-Latch trailer coupler for a two inch diameter ball. The shear strength on this lock is 42,000 pounds, and the last thing I wanna do is just give you some dimensions, we're gonna lock it back into place. Take out the key, put your rubber cap back on there, and I'm gonna give you the overall length from this end to this end at the widest point. So if we do that, you can see that is right at 4 3/8 inches.

For an overall length, the pin diameter right here is a quarter of an inch, and then the inside pin length or span, which is this portion here, this is gonna measure right at 2 15/16 of an inch, so just under three inches. But that should do it for the review on this InfiniteRule Lock for the two inch Demco eZ-Latch trailer couplers.
