Replacement Trailer Hub for 1.06 Inch Straight Spindle on Boat Trailer

Updated 04/26/2018 | Published 04/25/2018

Question:

I need a hub for a small boat trailer. It has a 1.06 straight spindle, a 5 by 4 1/2 bolt pattern and the current hub is 3 1/2 inches high. Please let me know which one of your hubs will fit. I believe the trailer is a load right and only carrying a 135 pound Gheenoe with a 4 hp Yamaha motor. Thanks,

Based on the 1.06 inch measurement you provided for your trailer spindles, you need a replacement hub assembly that uses the # L44649 inner and outer bearing. It might also be a good idea just to verify this by pulling an existing hub and checking for the bearing numbers that should be stamped onto the bearings themselves.

For your trailer, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-257-5UC3-EZ if you have brakes on the trailer or # 8-258-5UC1-EZ for an idler hub. Since it is a boat trailer, you might also consider a galvanized hub like the etrailer # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K that will be resistant to rust and corrosion.

All of these hub assemblies include the needed bearings and seal.
