How to Carry a Bike Rack Between an RV and Vehicle in Tow
Updated 03/26/2018 | Published 03/23/2018 >
Question:
I have an RV and I currently have a tow dolly pulling a Nissan Murano I would like to add a bike rack in between the RV and dolly. I have read in several places that if I use an extender it will decrease my hitch rating significantly. Any help is appreciated.

I have exactly what you will need to carry a bike rack on the back of your RV while also flat-towing your 2005 Nissan Murano. To do this you will need to use an adapter that is specifically designed for this purpose like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars part # RM-077-2 which has a 2-1/4" rise/drop. This adapter will not decrease the hitches capacity like most others would.
Please keep in mind that because the bike rack is being used on the back of the RV you will need to use a bike rack that is RV approved. I have attached a list of our RV approved bike racks for you but out of these option I recommend the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack part # S44FR which has a raised shank for increased clearance between the rack and tow bar in addition to locks for both the bikes and rack.
I have also attached a review video on the bike rack and adapter for you as well.
