Question:
I understand that there has not yet been a confirmed trailer hitch to fit my 2018 Chevrolet Sonic Sedan. However, do I have any other options if I don't want to use a trunk mount bike rack or roof rack? I need to carry bikes while flat-towing.

Yes, I do have an option for you to carry bikes with your flat-tow setup. However, since there is not a trailer hitch for your vehicle yet and you don't want to use a trunk mount or roof rack bike rack then you will have no other option but to use a dual hitch adapter and place the bikes on a hitch mounted back rack between the tow vehicle and toad. For this, we have a few options for you depending on your rise/drop needs.
In order to determine what your rise/drop needs are we will want to measure from the ground to the center of the base plate kit on the vehicle and compare that distance to the measurement from the ground to the center of the trailer hitch on the motorhome. We can then use one of the following based on this:
Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter (2-1/4" Rise/Drop) - part # RM-077-2
Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter (4" Rise/Drop) - part # RM-077-4
Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter (6" Rise/Drop) - part # RM-077-6
Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter (8" Rise/Drop) - part # RM-077-8
Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter (10" Rise/Drop) - part # RM-077-10
Please note that the bike rack you use must be rated for use on the back of a motorhome. I have attached a list of these options for you but I really like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE part # HLY84FR because it works with so many different types of bikes due to the available adapters and add-ons. I have attached a photo of the dual hitch adapter in use for you.
The above option will actually allow you to carry a wider variety of bikes than on the hitch of a towed vehicle as this list is very restrictive.
