Ways to Fix Hyperflash After Installing LED Vehicle Taillights

Updated 03/22/2018 | Published 03/20/2018

Question:

Does a load resistor need to be placed in each line to use LED bulbs? or, Do any LED bulbs have the resistor built into the bulb. I am thinking about tail/stop and turn signal bulbs on a 2008 Tundra Crew Cab. My manual says I need the 3157 for Tail/Stop and 3157A for Turn.

When you convert lights to LED bulbs like # DI54ZR there is far less power draw, so that can lead to hyper flashing as you referenced.

To fix this issue, you simply install a load resistor like # DI34ZR to each circuit that blinks. So both blinker circuits.
