Question:

Hi: Were looking at purchasing a Curt C58003 adapter bracket for use with a 2017 Ram Promaster 2500 van. Installed is a hitch with a 2-1/2 inch OD receiving tube. The end of the receiving tube has a 3/4 inch deep lip on it that measures a total of 3 inch in diameter vs the 2-1/2 inch diameter of the rest of the tube. Can this bracket be mounted to this receiving tube??? Thank you!

Although it would seem that you would want to measure the OD of your trailer hitch when looking at the Curt Easy Mount Brackets like part # C58003, you really want to measure the ID of the hitch receiver itself.

Since trailer hitches are identified by the ID of the receiver, accessories are labeled to fit the common ID measurement as opposed to the OD of the receiver.

From what you described you probably have a 2" trailer hitch which means you would want part # C58000 instead. This is the exact same product just for a different hitch receiver size. You can measure the ID of your receiver for verification. I have attached a photo and a helpful article to assist.
