Are Trailer Breakaway System Supposed to Lock Up Trailer Brakes when Activated

Is brake a way switch suppose to lock up the brakes. When you press leaver on control box is it suppose to stop your trailer.

Yes, a trailer breakaway system like the # 20099 is designed to apply the maximum amount of braking power to the trailer brakes when activated so the brakes should lock up.
