What would the best straps be to hold down a cooler and other items in a hitch cargo carrier? C18151 I dont want to have too much slack.

Expert Reply:
I have two options that will allow for you to securely attach a cooler to your Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18151. You can choose from either a cargo net or a set of cambuckle ratchet straps.
A cargo net such as the Curt Stretchable Cargo Net part # C18202 will allow for you to secure a much larger variety of items under the net in comparison to a cambuckle system. The cargo net is specifically designed to work with your cargo carrier and will work well to secure your cooler.
The most secure way to hold a cooler to your cargo carrier would involve using the Erickson Cam Buckle Tie-Down Straps part # 05605. The straps feature a cambuckle which will allow you to take all of the slack out of the system for the most secure fitment. They also only measure out to be 5-1/2' long therefore, will not give you an excess amount slack.
