Question:

I purchased item PK11932 from you a few weeks ago. When I went to install it, I plugged it in and without any ignition turned on or any lights, etc. key was out of the ignition the backup lights lit up. There is something not right. I have a 2012 RAM 2500 Crew Cab Diesel 4X4

Helpful Expert Reply:

Since you have a 2012 Ram 2500 and not a brand new truck, it is most likely that some corrosion, debris, or water could have gotten into one of the connectors and is bridging the gap between 2 pins. I have attached a photo where you can see that the 12V Power pin and the Reverse Lights pin are right next to each other.

Inspect all of the connectors on the Pollak 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Connector Wiring Harness # PK11932 and your Ram, and make sure that they are clean and free of any debris. I also recommend applying some Dielectric Grease # 11755 which will help prevent corrosion and water doing any damage in the future.

If that is not the problem let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.
