I contacted our representative at Hidden Hitch about the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 24677.
The representative at Draw-Tite informed me that the thickness of the tubing for part # 24677 is 3/16 inches. The arms of the hitch that connect to the frame of the vehicle are 1/2 inch thick. This is a Class I hitch and is intended for light duty use as it has a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs.
Part # 24677 does not include a drawbar. If you plan to do light towing, you may be interested in the following items to complete your towing setup:

2 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19258

If you plan on using a hitch mounted bike rack, you will need to use a bike rack designed to work with a Class I trailer hitch. You will be limited to carrying 2 bikes since all the hitches available for your Civic are Class I hitches. We have numerous hitch bike racks compatible with Class I Hitches. A bike rack I recommend that is compatible with a 1-1/4 Inch Class I hitch is the Thule Camber 2 Bike Carrier, part # TH9058, as it features anti-sway cradles.
