etrailer’s service, processing and shipping was excellent. Product is solid US engineering and manufacturing. A bit more money than similar on [online], but I’ve had Chinese shackles fail under load. Not taking a chance with a load at highway speeds.

Perfect for helping me load a 15' Gheenoe on my truck roof racks. The versatility of being able to reconfigure the carrier so it supports the canoe when transported in the truck bed is very convenient,
After I purchased on line from etrailer for I received a Cabelas catalog the day after I received this product, where it was advertised.
Truck bed extender is heavy duty extends my six foot truck bed to 11 ft of supported
area. I am delighted with the product.
The Malone truck bed extender is "just what the doctor ordered." I am very pleased with the product. As advertised, I can assemble it in minutes. The price is right. And the functionality of my Nissan Frontier bed has been greatly improved.
The support seems to be well made and should work for my truck. There is a problem when assembling the two sections of the long support. It is very difficult to slide the second metal section onto the coupler which joins the parts. I had to file the weld on the inside of the tube and sand off all of the paint plus use grease on the other piece to get the tube to slide on. The safety pin is not needed because they are never coming apart again. Other than that it seems to be a good choice and to me is worth the additional money over the less expensive choices because the unit is designed to carry 4 x 8 sheets of material.
I only had the opportunity to use the extender 1 time to haul a 18ft sea kayak in the bed of my chevy colorado. Worked well and the boat was stable in transport.

This guy is awesome... Just opened my own garage door service biz and this will allow me to easily move door panels. I'll be running plywood from the tailgate past the tee for decking so panels don't flex during transit. Awesome affordable option for me... better than a $3500 trailer at this point.
Value driven purchase -- IMO eTrailer is "the" online retailer -- the Malone extender is EZ to assemble, and works as advertised -- shipment via UPS with no issues -- three days from online order to doorstep-- as we say down south, "ya can't beat it with a stick" -- great email follow up from real person & not a third party marketing company -- eTailer is my "go to" for truck accessories -- cheers //
Finally had an opportunity to use our new Malone Axis Bed Extender today and was very pleased. Needed the bed extender to transport my 12 ft. kayak. It was easy to assemble & install and remained stable throughout transport. It's heavy-duty construction ensures it will remain useful for many tasks in the future. It's better than I hoped it would be; just an excellent product.
This is a very nice bed extender. It’s strong,easy to assemble and meets safety requirements.I love mine and use it everyday at work.
My Ridgeline is only 7.5' deep with the tailgate down which make it dicey to load more than 8' goods. The Malone extender makes carrying longer items a breeze. I have carried many 12' lumber loads with confidence. It assembles and breaks down rapidly with no tools necessary. And all of the pieces easily fit into the in-bed trunk. Great product!
Great product at a good price. Very solidly built and easy to use with a 2" inch hitch receiver. In my case, I need an extension when it's the vertical position, but that's only a few bucks more. I've used it in both horizontal and vertical configurations to haul lumber, fencing and plywood using my mid-sized SUV. It's not the same as having a pick-up truck, but for the handful of times I need to carry stuff like that, it's a lot less expensive and takes up next to no space when stored.
I love the Malone truck bed and roof load extender! As a cancer patient, I have lost a lot of strength recently, and loading my heavy kayak alone was too much. With this, I can either load it inside my Toyota Highlander or turn the extender to load it on the roof rack. Now I am able to get out without having to bother people for help.
Great addition to my Tacoma makes it easier to carry the longer loads, (long boards and even my sunfish sailboat.

Has been excellent! Used many times, hauling lumber, and boats in my pickup.
Works great in my 2013 F-150 5.5ft bed. I like how the bottom bar is angled upward, this prevents it from scraping on my steep driveway.
I ordered some extra DOT red/white reflective tape from Amazon to add to what was already there.
The anti-wobble clamp bracket is a big plus, not every bed extender comes with one of these and those that don't have it rattle back and forth everytime you go over a little bump.
My main use is lumber and my kayak.
etrailer processed and shipped the Malone Axis Truck Bed and Roof Load Extender on the same day ordered and it arrived 3 days later. Assembly was a breeze and it appears to be just what we needed for carrying long loads in our Tacoma bed or going vertical with the extender and using it for loads across the roof or over the tailgate. We look forward to putting it to use with 10 ft kayaks, a 17 ft canoe and all sorts of lumber and other long items. It is heavy duty, well built and flexible in how to orient the extender for a given load. The parts are a bit loose fitting so expect a bit of rattling, but that may better than tight fitting pieces that could be difficult to assemble. It comes with a brace that fits over the top of your hitch and over the 2x2 tube of the extender to firmly stabilize it in place at the hitch. My bet is the load on the extender will tighten the other components so rattle may only be noticeable when in the hitch without any load on it. So far, it appears to be just what we needed in terms of flexibility of use (vertical and horizontal) and in the load it will handle (375 lbs).
I have owned this extender for one year +. I use it to carry two 12.5 ft. Kayaks. The extender does its job, safely and securely carries the yaks all over the Midwest. The only modification I made was to the "goalpost uprights" I cut a swimming noodle to length, cut a slit to allow the noodle to fit over the uprights. The uprights are a hard point of contact, and needed something to protect the kayak. Quality product.

One year later and still rollin. Very satisfied with quality of the product.
This is a good cost effective value for hauling light cargo like a kayak or 2x4s when your short bed truck isn't adequate. Works great and easy to install.
I bought this to haul long boards in my Nissan Armada. I have used it numerous times in the first year. Definitely an excellent purchase!
This extender works great for a kayak and also for hauling lumber.

After using the extender for a year, I have been very pleased with the way it has performed. Seems durably constructed and it is easy to put on and take off the truck. It is also easy to store when not in use.

Just average quality. Adhesive on manufacturers name labels were peeling off. The pins used to connect the pieces together should be heavier. If you push the 2 widening bars together to load just one kayak the pads don’t fit on the bars. It is ok but if it was free returns, I would have sent it back. Great service though.
Great product. Assembled right out of the box and loaded one heavy 17' canoe, two 18' kayaks, and lumber to build the storage rack. Carried them about 400 miles with no problem at all---no swaying, no metal fatigue, no stress (except for tailgating 18 wheelers). Highly recommend this carrier.
This would be a five star rating, but I had to run an M8 X 1.25 tap through one of the anti-rattle holes to get the knob to attach. The rack is top notch, and the anti-rattle features are not required but certainly are a plus. I installed this on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma after buying another brand that would not go high enough to be level with the bed. Buy the Malone Safety Flags while you have free shipping from etrailer.
Works well next to tailgate, but won't raise to level when back extended is on. So shorter than planned from roof. I can only carry 14' materials.
