There is no problem with the hitch itself - it's fine. The issue is with the application, in this case 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Hatchback. Searching this application (see reviews) reports of additional material removal required. Etrailer says this is not "intended for" hybrids but will work with a slight material removal. When I encountered the extra, unidentified material that prevented installation, etrailer said it is in fact NOT intended for this car. To their credit they did offer to have it shipped back at their cost. So be aware there is info on this site that says this hitch CAN be used on this car and they have said this is in error. I did remove the extra metal brace as I could see no function it served (something for another trim level or perhaps center exhaust models?) and did manage to make it work. Etrailer did not "support" my doing this as I suppose they don't want the liability. Puzzling since I have done a similar install for a Prius. Not real comforting to cut up a new car without etrailer support. I would suggest either removing all information saying this application will work OR find the supporting facts to install this correctly as I have found to work (also another review here has had the same experience).

It wasn’t the easiest install but the instructions were very detailed and accurate. It can almost be done by one person except for the actual attachment of the hitch to the car. Overall, I would recommend. I use it for my bike hitch rack, works perfectly.
It fitted perfectly. Even though it is a 2025 Civic Hybrid there was no bracket to cut.
Installation was about 90 minutes
Really awesome product and relatively easy to install - the videos from etrailer definitely take the guess work out which is a massive help. The main tools you will need are a dremel and a multitool. I have a 23 civic hatch and I needed to cut back 4.5" from center of the bumper to get it to fit (instructions say 4").
This C92UR that you listed for my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Hatchback does not fit correctly. I had to cut and modify a metal "body" support in order to properly mount the hitch unit. The 2025 Civic Hybrid Hatchback is different in this way. This is something I feel you need to address
as the installation is not as indicated on instructions and your YouTube videos.
Other than that this, the unit is good quality.
Great hitch rack. Install is a bit tricky - definitely recommend using a floor jack to prop up the rack and the crash bar together, and ideally also have a second set of helping hands. Also recommend using a hacksaw or similar for cutting the bumper - I used a dremel and made a big mess.
I would order from etrailer again. The hitch arrived in perfect condition and packaged well. I have a 2019 honda civic touring sedan. This curt hitch went on smoothly. I used [the] video from etrailer as a reference to install the hitch and I used [a] video from a different youtuber for a reference on how to put the bumper facia back on. Both videos showed me exactly what to do. Thanks to etrailer and these videos my brother in law, husband and I were able to install this htich without having to pay anyone. The only things I would change are, instead of cutting the bumper facia 2.5 x 4 inches like the diagram shows you only need to cut 2.5 by 3 inches. It is also not necessary to remove the tail lights in order to remove the bumper facia. We removed the tail light screws and were able to remove the bumper facia witout any problem. Another thing to note is in the first video at minute 6:04 he says a 5mm hexset bolt...we removed these with a allen wrench. I did order the trim pad remover item#ALL648544 from etrailer to remove the push pins under the car. That came in handy and we were glad we had that tool. I also bought these trim panel tools from [online vendor] This worked perfectly to help unclip the bumper facia. I would say the entire project took us about an hour and a half.
I was very pleased with the quality of this hitch. Easy to install, and was pleased that it fit onto my Honda without needing to carve part of the bumper. I carried my bike rack on it for nearly 6 months until winter with no problems. I no longer own the car that I mounted it on, but I'll be buying another of these hitches for my new Mazda this week.
The e-trailer hitch is made very well. It is sturdy and has a good
painted black gloss finish. It will be installed on my Honda civic and used for a rack that will make it very convenient to transport my bicycle. Before the hitch I had to remove the front wheel to fit the bike in the car.
The hitch makes transport very easy.
Ive had this hitch for about a year. Installation was straight forward snd it has been great for my bike racks with no issues. 199% recommend!
I am a 20 yr veteran and a friend of mine who is a disabled vet, 75 yrs old has a mobile scooter. He asked the Va about a reciever hitch and cargo carrier to haul it with. They told him and his wife they would have to buy a new vehicle that they couldn’t put a hitch on a 2016 Honda civic. So I paid for the hitch and carrier and installed it! So much for gratitude!

Real quick, I just wanted to point out to keep in the mind that this hitch has a max tongue weight of two hundred pounds which would include the weight of any carrier accessory as well as the scooter. Thank you both for your service!
The product says it fits a 2025 civic hatchback, but given the instructions and videos, they are not aware of the extra modifications needed to make it fit. There is a big piece of metal that was added to the 2025 that has to be cut back. Had I known this, I probably would not have made this purchase, but I already had the bumper off before I realized this doesn't install given the current instructions. You can make it work, but be prepared for a lot of metal cutting. Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to spend an extra unexpected $[XX] in cutting tools and 3 extra hours of work to get it to fit.
hitch is doing great. Use it for a bike carrier.

2026 Civic 5dr Hatchback, fits well with very little trimming needed. Looks good and very well hidden below rear bumper. I had to get the 2" adapter for my bike rack attachment but everything came together nicely. Much better than roof rack needed for the naked roof on Civics. Get this, you'll love it!
A template sticker for cutting the bumper would have been handy, but the hitch is solid and blends well. Delivery was quick. Would buy again!
The hitch receiver arrived late afternoon in a heavy duty box complete with installation instructions and hardware. I installed it the same evening. If DIY review 3 or 4 videos regarding the bumper cover. The videos I saw had different information, however all info was very helpful.

No issues so far. Paint job still looks new.

I am so happy with my purchase of the trailer hitch receiver I ordered from etrailer. It was recommended by the hitch shop and went onto my 2020 Honda Civic in a snap! I have my granddaughter’s tiny bike in the trunk,so wanted a convenient solution for getting our bikes to the trail, and being able to unload and load the little bike with ease the trunk.we have 3 more bikes to take on our bike excursions, and are so excited. It feels nice and snug and I am so grateful we will soon be on our way. Thank you e-trailer! We can’t wait to take lots of trips with our new hitch attached. Now my daughter is talking about getting some brand new bikes!! We haven’t ridden since the beginning of Covid and will soon be tooling around again just like before. The hitch receiver came packed well, is light-weight, and affordable. Couldn’t be happier.
