This solved all my problems loading my large 14' kayak in the back of my truck. It allows 1 person to load and unload with ease, plus it protects the hull from scratches that a normal bed extender causes. The roller makes all the difference in the world!
Solid piece of equipment! I loaded up 2 Hobie sit on top kayaks in the small bed of my pickup (5 1/2 ft), and the test drive went great! No rattling or movement after utilizing all 4 of the tie downs provided. The smaller diameter ratcheted lines easily fit through the scuppers, and the other regular cam straps worked well for tying down the sterns to the “goal posts” and hitch safery chain loops along side the receiver. I’m really happy with Malone products. I also love the 6 kayak rack in my side yard.
I like the adjustability and that it breaks down small for storage in between uses. Solid and well made. Coating should hold up to saltwater.
The roller doesn't work properly, does not roll even when i put my kayak on it. The 2 sides that turn up are very rough and scuffs anything you haul. Also, needs to have some eyelets for tie downs.

Use 3-4 times a week hauling my fishing kayak. Been on a couple of 300 mile trips.Still like new, super well constructed.
Works well with Titan X 12.5
Package arrived 1 day earlier than expected, packaged ok, some scuffs and scratches on parts,hence the 4 star. If you need instructions they are average, but simple installation and the rubber roller is awesome, softer than expected from description but firm enough to last. Can't wait for the weather to break to start using my kayak

Good product! I will recommend it. Much easier to load my 70# kayak in my truck than on my roof racks. Plus I can load all of my fishing gear into my kayak before I leave the house. It dismantles easily to store in the truck when in the parking lot.
This is how I turned this into 5 star product: Wings are too loose in the T Bar for the roller to stay level and turn freely. I shimmed the wings with washers and used bolts to make everything snug.I used bolts wherever it called for lock pins. My sole purpose is to load my kayak into the truck. It seems more secure against theft when the truck is left in the parking area.
If they fix the wing issue I would give a 5 star review.

Love it
As with other Malone products, I own this bed extender is very rugged very well-made and easy to assemble. Even though I own him alone, Trailer, sometimes it’s nice just to be able to throw something in the bed and not have the trailer. Very happy.
Ok so the roller predetermined the preset width. My yak only needs 40"
Also the roller pads and velcro logo sox don't fit the true 2" roller
I expected better out if the cost of the China rack.
The wobble clamp on the tow hitch has to be wrecked on and off for removal
Works like a charm transporting our kayaks in our Ridgeline! Also the bed extender is easy to install and remove when not in use.

I have installed this extender and used it to move my 17 foot wooden rowing scull. I've wanted a way that I could load and unload my boat by myself. This extremely well made system is exactly what I had hoped it would be.
I am also a total worry-wort when it comes to carrying things on my truck. I always worry about straps breaking, things flying off and such. So I had imagined that I would just use the the Extender to help me load, but then attach the boat to the tailgate and truck rack for driving. However, the extender is so solid and rugged that I felt totally comfortable using it for driving. I wish I hadn't waited so long to purchase.
Also, it's made in Maine so what more could you ask for.
