This would be a five star rating, but I had to run an M8 X 1.25 tap through one of the anti-rattle holes to get the knob to attach. The rack is top notch, and the anti-rattle features are not required but certainly are a plus. I installed this on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma after buying another brand that would not go high enough to be level with the bed. Buy the Malone Safety Flags while you have free shipping from etrailer.
This is how I turned this into 5 star product: Wings are too loose in the T Bar for the roller to stay level and turn freely. I shimmed the wings with washers and used bolts to make everything snug.I used bolts wherever it called for lock pins. My sole purpose is to load my kayak into the truck. It seems more secure against theft when the truck is left in the parking area.
If they fix the wing issue I would give a 5 star review.
Works well next to tailgate, but won't raise to level when back extended is on. So shorter than planned from roof. I can only carry 14' materials.
As with other Malone products, I own this bed extender is very rugged very well-made and easy to assemble. Even though I own him alone, Trailer, sometimes it’s nice just to be able to throw something in the bed and not have the trailer. Very happy.
Ok so the roller predetermined the preset width. My yak only needs 40"
Also the roller pads and velcro logo sox don't fit the true 2" roller
I expected better out if the cost of the China rack.
The wobble clamp on the tow hitch has to be wrecked on and off for removal
Works like a charm transporting our kayaks in our Ridgeline! Also the bed extender is easy to install and remove when not in use.
I have installed this extender and used it to move my 17 foot wooden rowing scull. I've wanted a way that I could load and unload my boat by myself. This extremely well made system is exactly what I had hoped it would be.
I am also a total worry-wort when it comes to carrying things on my truck. I always worry about straps breaking, things flying off and such. So I had imagined that I would just use the the Extender to help me load, but then attach the boat to the tailgate and truck rack for driving. However, the extender is so solid and rugged that I felt totally comfortable using it for driving. I wish I hadn't waited so long to purchase.
Also, it's made in Maine so what more could you ask for.

I have a 5th wheel trailer. So hauling a 16 ft tandem kayak/canoe has to be above the cab. First just had the Thule goalpost mounted in front receiver hitch and headache rack on flatbed. Then I put this roller on, what a difference it made! (has about 1”clearance in front of goalpost) now I can load it solo. Thank you etrailer!

We used 4 of these on a trailer to make it easy to load a flycraft rubber raft.
So far no problems .
I mounted this roller into the T-slots of a Yakima HD Overhaul truck rack. Fit perfectly. Wish I’d done it years ago. I use it to assist in loading both kayaks and canoes.

Oh nice! And you know what they say, "no time like the present!" Now that they are installed, any plans for a float trip or anything?
I ordered this to go with my Malone bed extender. The extender calls for the 42in roller. What I received was a 60in roller which I now have to go through the hassle of sending back. I talked to anyone individual that said they'd get the correct one out to me and evidently it's on its way but there's no tracking available as of yet. I honestly don't know how someone could mistake a 42in anything for something 60 inches long. The box this thing came in is over 5ft. If they get the correct item to me then I'll up the stars and bit. If not less than one is my rating
Heavy duty and will work for my kayak. Wanted the smaller version which is discontinued.

Main reason is I can load kayaks, canoes, by myself, don’t have to run someone down to get them on top of truck. Made all the difference in the world. Got some nice compliments from other boaters what a good idea this is.
