Question:
I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. It is an extended cab with the 6 1/2 foot bed. It does have a lift gate on it. Im looking at receiver hitch C15302 or 15703.... Will either work for my application? I have a 2012 Silverado with a lift gate and it has the O.E.M. class V hitch on it. Thank you for your help,

Both of the Curt hitches that you listed are confirmed to fit your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. The difference between the two can been seen in these hitches' features.
The Curt Class V Hitch # C15302 that uses the 2 inch receiver opening, is the hitch that I recommend. The 2 inch opening is the more common size for use of a hitch accessory. If you wan to use the hitch for this application, then you will have a wider selection of accessories that will fit this hitch/.
This hitch has a 2400 lbs tongue weight rating and a 16K towing capacity.
If your are needing heavy-duty towing, then the Curt Class V Hitch # C15703 will work well for this application . This hitch uses the larger 2-1/2 inch receiver opening and has a towing capacity of 18K. This hitch is sturdier that the other Curt hitch and is strictly designed for towing.
However, the 2-1/2 inch receiver opening has vey limited accessories available. Also, the # C15703 hitch may need some drilling during installation, while the # C15302 hitch has a non-drill design and will bolt right to your truck's frame.
I have linked a couple of help articles on choosing the correct trailer hitch and hitch installation tips for your to review.
