Recommended Trailer Light That Provides Plenty Of Light When Backing Up

Updated 03/23/2017 | Published 03/22/2017

Question:

I am looking to replace my 6 inch oval incandescent lights. These will be on a trailer that i use to back down my driveway at least twice a week and its through trees. My incandescent lights flood the area with light and work well but burn out faster. What light do you suggest to use for my application. It is not a DOT approved light issue. I have read some reviews and am still not sure what yall have that with work as good or better than the incandescent as far as lighting up the area. Please not i need flood and not directional so i can see the sides as backing up.

The trailer light I recommend for you is the Optronics, part # STL211RCB. This is an LED light that has 4-functions, stop, tail, turn, and backup. With the 16 LED diodes it will give you plenty of light you need when backing up.

This light does measure 6-7/16 inches x 2-5/16 inches and is 1-1/2 inches deep. It does require the # A70GB grommet for mounting and if you do not want to cut holes in your trailer frame it can be surface mounted with the # BK70BB mounting bracket. We do not have any oval lights that measure 6-inches.

Since this light uses a 3-prong plug you will need part # A47PB to connect this light to your trailer wiring.
