The locking feature of the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover, part # BAK39406 relies on the tailgate being locked. Once the tailgate is locked you cannot get to the release for the tonneau cover.
You may want to consider adding a lock to the tailgate on your 2015 Tacoma. I have attached a link to our product page for the tailgate locks we offer. I recommend a lock like the Pop & Lock Custom Locking Tailgate Handle, part # PAL5500. This lock replaces the OEM tailgate handle on your truck and comes with 2 keys. No drilling is needed for installation. All of the needed hardware is included with the # PAL5500. I have attached a link to an installation video for this lock system.
Once the lock is in place the # BAK39406 tonneau cover can be secured and help keep thieves out of the bed of your truck.
