Can Andersen Ultimate Fifth Wheel Hitch Adapter be Used with Ram Pop In Hitch Ball Kit

Published 01/18/2017

Question:

I currently have a gooseneck ball in my truck thati gt from your Guys website it is the pop in ball hitch that is for dodge .. no pins or bolt to hold it in just the bearings .. I also recently purchased the Anderson gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter hitch .. my Main concern or question would be is it safe to use this combo ?? I didnt know what the bearings were rated for on pulling pressure ? I know most of the weight will be on the toung of the trailer but I wasnt sure about hitting large bumps or bucking would cause a major failure or not ?? I think the pop in ball itself is rated for 30k lbs just wanted to ask someone before I hauled it with that particular set up thank you!

Sounds like you have one of the pop in Ram truck balls # C58CR for fitting the factory rail kit of the truck. There's no reason an Andersen fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter couldn't be used.
