Front Hitch for 2024 Ram 3500 Diesel

Question:

I am looking for a front 2” hitch for my 2024 RAM 3500 6.7 diesel. Only going to be used for a bike rack 2 ebikes while pulling my 5th wheel. I see in the description that this exclude diesel models. Is there a product the will easily install?

Hey Dave, welcome back! The only front hitch that fits the diesel models is the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch # EH37FR. Installation will require some trimming. You can see what it's like in the installation video linked further down on this page. This has a vertical load of 1,000 lbs so more than enough for your bikes and bike rack.

What kind of 5th wheel are you towing?

Thanks for the info! I have a 2018 Forest River Cardinal 3250RL. I saw this one, however, the documentation is confusing: Confirmed to Fit 2024 Ram 3500 CHANGE VEHICLE Diesel models excluding Diesel models I assumed this excluded diesel models… Thanks, again, and I will probably be ordering soon!

@DaveW ah yeah, I totally understand that one always gets people. It is split into two categories, Diesel models and excluding Diesel models. When it lists both it means it fits both, Diesel and everything that isn't Diesel. Long story short, it will work for your truck.

@DaveW. Hello Sir. ETrailer sent me this information asking for Feedback on my purchase. I installed this front hitch on my 21 Ram 3500 6.7. Installation was easy, everything fit perfectly. I also use it for a e bike rack when pulling my 5er. It is built like a tank. 1000 pound dead weight and 10000 pulling capacity. I have also used the hitch to move heavy trailers into tight spots on my property. I also have a 12k portable winch for the receiver that fits perfectly. Feel free to ask me any questions.

@DaveW. I did install it (myself) in a 2021 RAM 3500 Diesel. Installation is not difficult. You just have to take your time, have the right tools, and be careful following the instructions. I carry a 650cc motorcycle without a problem. The guys with eTrailer are helpful, if needed. Best of luck.

The front receiver kit I purchased was for a 2020 Ram 2500 6.4 engine. As advertised only a minor amount of trimming the plastic debris deflector was required. I installed the kit by myself in about 3 hours. It’s the only kit that I’ve purchased that had more hardware than I needed. I’ve carried bikes on the front of the truck for 3 years with no problems other than hitting a deer. It damaged a bike however it saved the truck. Great deer guard.

I put one of these on my ram 2500 bighorn diesel in June 2025 to haul our bikes when trailer towing. Works great, glad I made the purchase. Install tip - I had to use a breaker bar with a pipe slid over it to crack some of the truck frame bolts loose where the hitch bolts to the frame. Other than that install went decent though it did take me a little longer to install than I anticipated…But who cares, once it’s on, it’s on.
