This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.All I needed was a class 1 or less 1&1/4" recvr for a bike rack and this is what I found. A class 3 hitch rated for towing 6000#. Ridiculous. The thing weighs a ton. It is awkward as the dickens to handle. It was thrown in a box with no packing what so ever. All four corners of the box were damaged and the hitch was poking thru. The UPS driver left it at the bottom of the stairs to my front porch. It's a drop in fit if your Honda Pilot is upside down. Very difficult to get into position under the vehicle with the vehicle on the ground. I watched the video and I highly recommend it. Drop the spare tire like they say. Better yet get someone to install it. My wife and I did it in about 2 hours which is ridiculous to wrench in 6 bolts. They are fine to medium thread machine screws and have to go in straight and square. The hitch is so awkward and cumbersome to handle. We put ammo cans I had under the sides and recvr and built them up 2 layers until I could get 1 bolt in and then it was easy peasy. Do not completely install any 1 bolt until you have all 6 bolts almost completely installed. You need a 1/2" drive socket wrench and extsn. You also need a 22mm socket as mentioned in the video. Two guys under the SUV on a lift, they make it look easy. It is not easy because as I mentioned before this thing is heavy and awkward. It loves gravity. I dont know how you could lift it up and put in the bolts (easily). Good luck.
Jimmy J - 04/20/2022Fits well on my 2021 Honda Pilot. The etrailer customer service was excellent, the video explanation was extremely useful (although it certainly cuts out the grunt work time and makes it appear easier than it actually is). The hitch is 50 pounds and takes a bit of muscling it around to get it installed (took about 45 minutes overall). Certainly do-able for a DIY person but don’t go into it assuming it will be easy. I used the jack to help hold it in place but even that is difficult if the jack is not stable. Best as a two person job.
Jacob - 08/25/2021Etrailer and Curt make a great team. Their hitch is a high quality affordable product. Note; I checked and the Acura dealer wanted an absurd amount of money for a hitch. This one is very easy to install (must have two men) with ratchet with extension to fasten 6 bolts. Remove spare tire if present, one guy on each side of hitch on backs under car, lift hitch up to align one side then other side needs some force to push the exhaust hanger to the side while lifting the hitch. Secure one bolt each side to take weight off, snug fit all six bolts then torque each to 139 ft.lbs., reinstall spare and you're done. Took me and my friend 20 minutes start to finish. Hitch has a nice finish and heavy duty one-piece construction with high quality bolts and spring/safety washers and it leaves 11 inches of clear space to the ground once installed. I highly recommend this Curt hitch, plus delivery by etrailer was within 4 days!

Hitch will be specifically used for a Thule bike carrier. All you see is just the receiver, bracket is hidden under frame. Easy ordering process and quick shipment.
STUART G - 04/26/2021I have installed a trailer hitch by myself 6 years ago on a F-150 with NO problems. I thought this one would go similarly. This hitch is a beast!! 48 lbs, which is nowhere listed on the etrailers website, sounds doable until you are on your back under the car trying to balance a HIGHLY unbalanced piece of steel. I did too much of my homework AFTER it arrived. Even the transcript of the installation never mentions a hydraulic lift, just "two guys." You have to watch the video to see the lift, which again is never mentioned. I saw other reviews describing the same issue, but the reviews were for 4 and 5 stars. Don't know why!! The product is sturdy, but is the heavy duty design really necessary? My F-150 worked fine for 6 years pulling a 3K lb boat. If I hadn't already installed a hitch, I may have thought "This is how they all are." If I had it to do over, I would look elsewhere. As it is, I will probably pay my local mechanic to install it. And order all the other things that need to go with it that didn't come with it.

Lay - 05/28/2021Fast delivery. Fast customer service responsiveness. Installation went perfectly, without a hitch (pun intended). Very easy on the 2020 Pilot. One recommendation I would add, is to lube the 6 bolts and threaded holes and run the bolts all the way in and out once before lifting the hitch up in place. Trust me, you'll thank me for it. I had to install this myself, so I temporarily held one side up with steel wire/coat hanger. Then bolted the opposite side up loosely, then did the other side. Total time about 35 minutes.

Installation instructions were easy to follow, and start to finish took me 20 minutes to install. I use the hitch for a bike rack, a cargo carrier, and utility trailer, but with the class III I can also pull a camper. Adds so much versatility to my SUV.
Product was shipped promptly and well received. Shipping box was intact and item was brand new with all the required hardware securely attached. Install went well as a one man job. Used a jack and jack stands for installation so it wasn’t too troubling. You could say everything went without a hitch! The installation videos were very helpful in encouraging me to do this on my own. Excellent experience all around, so thank you!
Bought the hitch for a Honda Pilot and it arrived on time. It was easy to install. I did go out and pick up some blue Lock-tite to ensure the bolts didn't come loose over time. The hitch has performed very well, was a good value, and is high quality. Thank you! T
The Curt Trailer Hitch C13146 fit my 2022 Honda Pilot SE perfectly. The gloss black finish looks great with the Pilot SE black bumper trim. Also the Hands Free tailgate works fine on either side of the 2" receiver. This Curt Trailer Hitch was a much more economical option then the OEM Hitch. The only reason for the 4 stars is the package had a hole in the box & the four pin brackets was missing from my order....etrailer should consider shipping the smaller components separately.
Easy install after cleaning rust from threads using metric tap. Metric bolts will not thread on without cleaning threads. Cleaning threads with brush is useless.
It would be helpful to have the option to buy the tap with the trailer hitch. I had to special order the tap, so the install took extra days since needed to wait for tap delivery!!

Hitch is top quality! Already installed in about 20 minutes and used it on 600 mi.trip. Had a little glitch in delayed delivery with this order(carrier fault totally). etrailer provided excellent service. This was the 2nd hitch I bought from etrailer and would highly recommend them to anyone.
The hitch and wiring harness was very easy to install, I actually installed by myself. Looks great and cost much less than the factory install.

Joe - 06/19/2019The trailer hitch was very simple to install. It took a total of 30 minutes from start to finish. My wife helped to get the first 2 bolts in place and I did the rest by myself. The product itself is heavy duty and well machines. I highly recommend the trailer hitch.
Pretty easy install on a 2016 Honda Pilot. Helped to have an extra set of hands to start the bolts while I held it in place. Follow the video provided by etrailer and you cannot go wrong. Honda makes it really easy - I should have done this years ago. We have yet to use it for a bike rack and cargo tray. I have no doubts (between Honda and Curt) that both will work just fine.
Dual hitch receiver allows me to tow car as well as bikes above. Shipment from trailer is always very fast and efficient - always receive product in excellent condition.

I hope to help others with my review. First I have a 2021 Honda Pilot SE. I am using the hitch to mount a bike rack only. I am not towing anything and did not hook up any lighting harness. The hitch fits perfectly via simple bolts that are already predrilled into the car frame. This is a very simple install if you are not doing any wiring. Took less than 30 min. Some advice is you need 2 people to at least get 2 bolts started one on each side. To help clarify some confusion I had but could not find any details. The SE pilot has 20 inch wheels. If you are using the factory spare tire the hitch will fit fine. The factory spare is a compact spare and it fits fine. Lower the spare do the install then crank it back up. I was concerned about the hands free rear door sensor not working. The sensor works fine for me without installing the relocation kit. I am not an expert but it appears that the relocation kit for the kick sensor is needed if your hitch goes through the rear bumper. This hitch hangs just below the factory bumper and the hands free sensor works fine. Frankly the sensor is a bit quirky but yes it works. If you can use a socket wrench you can install this without an issue. If your car is new the bolt holes will be nice and clean and the bolts thread right on. Nice quality product and vet simple install. Very satisfied. Took longer to make breakfast then put this on.
The hitch came slightly damaged when it was delivered with some minor cosmetic damage due to torn holes in the box with the hitch protruding through the holes. A little Rustoleum touchup paint to the damaged areas and it looks like new again!
Installation was straightforward — it took almost one hour for one person and a lot of jack stands for precisely positioning the hitch under the screw holes. The installed product looks fine. All in all, am very happy and satisfied with this product.
It arrived on time. The box was in pretty good shape. I installed The receiver myself, it will take longer to install if you do it yourself.
