Can Inner leg be Removed From Out Leg Of Lippert Landing Gear On Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:
Hello I have a sheer pin that I am having trouble replacing on the leg opposite the motor on my 5th wheel. I believe the Stromberg Carlson LB-179014 is the leg part I am referring to, My problem is it appears that if I can remove the inner tube from the outer tube to punch out the sheer pin and replace the pin I might be able to fix it but I cannot figure out how to remove the inner tube from the outer. Can you help?

Per our technical contact at Lippert Components they said that on their landing gear legs such as the follow leg part # LC179014, the outer tube has two pinch points that are intended to prevent the inner tube from extending too far.
The pinch points are also intended to prevent the inner tube from completely leaving the outer tube. My contact also said that for safety reasons it is not recommended to try to repair this jack leg, and it should just be replaced.
