I can help you pick out a bike rack that will be compatible with your Curt 1-1/4 Class I hitch # C11065 on your 2011 Volvo C70. The first thing we know is that from the center of your hitch pin hole to the edge of your bumper will need a rack with at least an 8-1/2 inch clearance. The Thule # TH92BJ won't be able to work for your C70 but I do have several solutions for you. If you do have fenders on your step thru's I have a solution for that. The Thule Helium # TH9042PRO is a lightweight hanging rack that will allow you to use a bike adapter bar like # TH982XT to properly mount your bikes to the rack. This rack will also be compatible with your bumper clearance and the Class 1 1-1/4 hitch you have one your vehicle. This rack also features a cable lock for your bikes and a hitch lock for the rack. Yes! I do think that the Saris Freedom 2 Platform Bike Rack # SA4412B will be a great fit for your 1-1/4 hitch on your Volvo C70. You are correct that it will have plenty of bumper clearance and be very lightweight. You will want to use a wrench to install the anti-rattle device, this will take out any play in the hitch and help your bike rack be more stable when going down the road. Not only is this rack only weigh only 22-1/2lbs, but the frame cradles pivot and slide up and down the central mast which allows the rack to grab your bike's tube at the perfect angle. This will reduce the need for the bike adapter bar. For security the anti-rattle bolt and cable lock for the Freedom2 bike rack are # SA3022 & # SA981. Per the directions, the Curt warranty also requires you to use a stability strap for any non-trailer loads (like a bike rack), so you will also want to get a stabilization strap like the Curt # 18050.
