Today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone Bike Adapter Bar for women's, children's, and alternative frame bikes. This provides the horizontal mounting point needed for level transport or storage of your bicycle. It simple snaps around the seat post and then the stem of the bike, which is right there below the handlebars. It's going to provide that removable temporary frame piece on bikes with step-through or other unconventional frame designs. One of the neat features about the unit is it has the one button operation for quick and simple installation. Also, when it shuts you can hear it click shut, which gives you that peace of mind that it's secured correctly. It's going to be the same setup on this side as well.
Just a really nice easy to use design. It's going to feature the telescoping shaft that's going to allow the unit to fit most bicycles and it features the coated clamps. That way, it doesn't do any type of damage to the bike's finish, so you don't have to worry about abrasions, rubs, or scratches. Its also got these nice indentions right here, which simply just allows for a more comfortable fit to the bicycle, which is always a great thing to have. The unit itself is made from a durable steel construction with powder coated finishing, so it's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion, lasting and looking good for a long time. When it comes to the overall length in the fully retracted position, measuring edge and edge it's 23-1/4" long. It's going to measure 3" wide at the widest point, which is here at this clamp.
The small tube has a diameter of 1-3/16". The large tube has a diameter of 1-3/8". This is going to adjust from around 23" to 30". It features a capacity of 50 pounds. The large opening, that's going to give us a measurement of about 2-1/8" x 4-3/8".
The smaller opening measures about 1-3/8" x 3-1/2 to 3-5/8". That's going to do it for the Malone Bike Adapter Bar.
The enike is quite heavy for a suspension rack and the bike design makes bike mounting difficult however the Malone adapter bar allows simple and secure mounting of the bike. I remove the battery to reduce the weight load to provide additional margin. Great product.

The bike rack adapter works okay. Im not going to leave a review because its not 5 stars, but it's partly due to the unique modifications of the bike it's for. I bought a used mountain bike off craiglist that has such low clearance on the head tube I can barely fit this adapter around it. There are no adapter on the market that work except this one though.
What i really need is a different bike rack (i bought one of yours where the bikes hang from their frame). Instead I need a 3-4 bike rack where the tires are what are held by the rack.

This item took a little figuring out but now that we know how to open, extend and attach this bar we are all set. I will definitely recommend the Malone bike adapter.

This adapter bar made it much easier for me to sit my new bike on the Malone Runaway Bike Carrier fir transporting. In fact, the Bike Adapter would make it easy to use on any other carrier. It was easy to order and quickly received; and the price was reasonable. So glad that I got it.
Love the way it works and the ease of opening the tailgate and all that, however, I'm only 5'3" and I have to lift my bike up so high to get it on the rack, that it's really a struggle for me. I have a small SUV and my hitch is only about 7-8 inches off the ground, but I really struggle with lifting the bike up. I've tried lowering the rack to the down position and loading the bike, but that's awkward for me as well.
These adapters work as advertised. They're easy to install and remove from our bikes (no tools needed), and they hang the bikes on our hitch rack with no trouble. So easy that our 12 year old can do it himself. We were going to get a kuat hitch receiver rack for four bikes, but these adapters made it possible to use our old Thule hitch receiver rack, resulting in our saving about $1,000! Can't beat that!
Got 2 and can recommend highly. Very sturdy and easy to use even after they were put on our car bike rack for multiple long trips. The head units are very well constructed and leave no marks or scratches on the bikes.
We already had a Yakima adapter bar but needed another one for a second bike. Not wanting to spend another $50, we took a chance on the Malone brand. They are very similar bars, but the Malone is even better! So for nearly half the price we got a better product. Very happy with the purchase.
Worked exactly as advertised
Have not completely tried out either my new bike rack or the adapter. Both arrived when promised and etrailer does an excellent job of managing orders.
This product does the job well, as described. It would get five stars from me if I did not have a bit of trouble depressing the button that opens the link at both ends. With use it may depress more easily. It's a great solution for a step through bike and rack that needs this element in order to carry your bike.
This bike bar worked great. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be strong enough to handle my heavy ebike (~60 lbs) because it’s only rated for 50 lbs, but it has worked great with no problems or signs of wear or failure.
Sturdy and easy to use. Make sure you measure carefully - this BARELY fit a child's bike, and we had to raise the seat to get a long enough space (between handlebars and seat) for it to work.
