Question:
c15324, I want this hitch because of its hi cap rating and 2inch draw bar spec. but I have an 01 2500 suburban. Any idea why this hitch will spec for an 03 but not an 01? So far as I know they are the same rig. thx.

Expert Reply:
The 2001 and 2003 model years of the Chevrolet Suburban are both part of the same (9th) generation of this vehicle and some hitches do fit both model years, but the C15324 is not a fit for your 2001 Chevy Suburban.
Curt # 14080 which carries a 1000-lb TW capacity. This tongue weight capacity increases to 1200-lb with weight distribution.
The likely reason that the Curt hitch # C15324 is not offered for your vehicle is that it exceeds the vehicle's capacity. I suggest a check of your owner's manual to confirm the vehicle's TW and gross trailer weight ratings. Most likely you will find it is more in line with the other hitches offered.
