Question:
I am looking at purchasing a used 5x8 dual axel utility trailer. One of the axels is broken. Can I convert the trailer to single axel? I dont plan on hauling over 1000 pounds.

If you are absolutely sure you wouldn't exceed the capacity of the one axle on your trailer you could get by with just one axle. You are going to have to move the good axle to where the center equalizer is currently at to ensure you get proper axle placement which ensures that your trailer tongue weight will be in the 10 to 15 percent of the total trailer weight range so that you don't have sway.
For a single axle hanger kit you would need the part # APS1.
