Question:
I am in the process of adding base plates, wiring harness and probably a brake lite relay and then an invisibrake system to my 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited. I could use some comments regarding the following: 1 Jeep says when flat towing that the key should be in ACC position to unlock the steering wheel and that the negative cable on the battery terminal should be removed. I see that the invisibrake system is wired to the battery. How do I reconcile this conflict? 2 Can you explain how the invisibrake cylinder gets charged from the brake vacuum system when everything in the toad is off? Thanks,

My contact at Roadmaster told me that even though Jeep says you need to disconnect the negative battery cable when flat towing, and the key must be left in the ACC position, you will need to use a battery disconnect like part # RM-766 on the positive side of the battery instead. This will eliminate the need to disconnect your battery cable every time you tow the Jeep, and it will provide a maintenance charge to the battery through the tow light wiring.
The Roadmaster InvisiBrake system, part # RM-8700 gets its power from the towing vehicle and its compressor will supply air to the air cylinder when activated. When installed this system will supplement the air pressure for the brake booster that the vehicle normally generates.
