Expert Reply:
The two Blue Ox base plate sets you referenced, # BX1710 and # BX1674, both feature removable arms and both fit a range of Blue Ox tow bars, but these two base plates fit different vehicles.
Kit # BX1710 is for the 2014 model year Silverado 1500 and works with Blue Ox's Aventa, Aladdin, Alpha, and Allure tow bars.
Kit # BX1674 fits various earlier model years and versions of GMC/Chevrolet 1500 trucks and works with Blue Ox's Acclaim, Adventurer, Aventa, Aladdin, Alpha, Allure and Titan tow bars.
We offer base plates that will fit your 2015 GMC Canyon and these can be seen on the link provided. Select your truck's version from the drop-down menu bar to see compatible base plates.
The linked article on flat towing reviews all of the other components required for safe and legal flat towing. These other items include safety cables, the tow bar, a wiring/lighting solution and a supplementary braking system such as the portable and easy-to-use Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR.
