When you’re not towing, this setup keeps your front end looking clean. The hidden design leaves no brackets or crossbars sticking out past the bumper, and the removable arms twist off in seconds. Once the arms are out, plug in the receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out while keeping the front end looking finished.
Getting ready to tow doesn’t need to take all day. The twist-lock arms slide into the receivers, rotate to lock in place, and secure with a pin. When you’re done, pull the pin, give the arm a twist, and it comes right out. It’s a quick process that makes solo hookups easier at home or at camp.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis—no welding required. The sturdy steel build spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help reduce stress on the suspension. It’s powder coated to resist rust and corrosion for dependable performance mile after mile.
Whether you already own a Blue Ox tow bar or plan to use another brand, this kit is ready to match up. It pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid connection and can be adapted for use with Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (DM9523041) tow bars, each sold separately. Integrated mounting points make it easy to add an electrical connector bracket so your wiring stays organized.
This kit’s straightforward bolt-on design makes installation approachable for experienced DIYers or local shops alike. It mounts securely using existing chassis points—no welding needed—and includes all hardware required for a solid fit. Bracket spacing is 31-1/2" center to center with a bracket height of 15-1/2", so it’s easy to plan your setup around those measurements.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
