If you like a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this setup keeps things seamless. The brackets stay tucked behind the fascia so nothing sticks out past the front end. When you’re done towing, just twist and pull the removable arms to detach them, then plug the receivers with the included covers to keep dirt and debris out. It’s simple, tidy, and protects your shins from catching on any protruding hardware.
Connecting your tow bar is quick with the twist-lock design. Each arm slides into its receiver and locks with a simple rotation, then secures with the pull pin. When it’s time to disconnect, pull the pin, give it a twist, and remove the arms. The sturdy lugs pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid connection every time.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis using the included mounting hardware—no welding required. The heavy-duty steel construction spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to reduce stress on suspension components and maintain stability during long hauls. The powder-coated finish helps keep rust and corrosion at bay so it stays dependable mile after mile.
If you’re already running gear you like, you can still use it here. This base plate works directly with Blue Ox tow bars, but it’s also adaptable for use with Roadmaster tow bars (using adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco tow bars (adapter DM9523041), all sold separately. Built-in mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug and bracket so your setup stays neat and functional.
If you prefer doing your own installs, this setup makes it manageable. It bolts securely to your chassis using included hardware—no welding needed. Once installed, you can count on the precise fitment for reliable towing performance every time. Specs: distance between brackets 31-1/4", bracket height 15-3/4".

Awesome parts! EXACT fit for my 2012 Silverado! No issues whatsoever! I highly recommend them!
The installation of the base plate(s) was simple. We only had to make a slight modification that required grinding one side of the unit due to a protruding tab on the vehicle where the plate slides in. Aside from that it was about a 2 hour project.
I was expecting a little better judging by all the great reviews. Fitment was average and the hardware was adequate. The inserts required minor sanding to clear a pinched area of the frame to make it go in far enough to line up with the existing tow hook holes.
Using the safety cable bracket as a template, a 90 degree drill is not required on the passenger side installation like some have mentioned. Also I elected to shorten the bolt that runs vertically into the frame .265” instead of stacking four 1/2” flat washers per side (which were not in the hardware kit anyways) and a 1/2” washer wouldn’t slide over the shoulder of the bolt directly under the head. All in all it’s a great product and I have no doubt it will do the job without issue.

I have a 2014 GMC 1500 crew shortbed 4x4.Looking for a blue ox base plate, but seem to be conflicting results on which one to order. Any help? Thanks
Much easier install than I expected. I put this on my 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and the fit was perfect. I followed directions and drilled the two holes (one on each side). All the hardware was included. I have had no problems since the installation. I have pulled my truck to Florida twice and a few shorter trips without a hitch (pun intended)
etrailers customer service is excellent. The item was back ordered, the customer service folks kept me informed on the projected delivery the entire time. And the Blue Ox part are really high quality. Only one minor issue, the bolts, nuts and washers bag was opened and the box had a large crack. Lost a few small pieces, not a big deal I have plenty of spares in the shop. Thanks etrailer
Still works with ease, allows quick connect/disconnect, vehicle trails behind without issues.
I installed these on my 2008 chevy Silverado 1500 4X4. Tow hooks were fairly easy to remove and the base plates fit great. Drilling the frame for the back bolts was interesting but not bad. You need a angle drill for the passenger side hole and a good 1/2 inch drill bit. Minor trimming of the bumper was easy with a razor blade knife.

works great. Easy to hook up.
Nice equipment. Took me 3 hours to put on. Had to cut the bumper with a torch it went across the holes. Other than that it was pretty simple. Should work great. Planning on traveling and pulling our truck 4 down with our motorhome.
