  Hi Charles! That's an interesting idea, but the TruRyde #84 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Brake Flange for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # TRU77FR does need to be welded onto the axle beam. The 4 bolt holes/plate on this spindle (and all spindles for that matter) is designed for a brake to attach to it.
