I use these for repairing and installing new trailer wires. Waterproof sealant works great keeping moisture out of connection and preventing corrosion.

by:

Worked perfectly! Easy to install!

by:

Best in the business

by:

Makes for easy wiring

by:

Nothing special. It works as expected.

It
does not however match the OEM style on my trailers where both of the lighting wires are "inside" the connector but only one is spliced to the lamp wire.

by:

Nice idea for waterproof connector, check your wire size/gage on the trailer side before ordering mine was too large to fit this connector.

by:

Fast shipping and great product. Easy to install on my boat trailer. Really helps with making connections. Will test the longevity of this product over the next several years. But overall very pleased, and etrailer is a wonderful company.

  • Quick Splice Connector Recommendation for Tapping Subaru Reverse Light Circuit for Backup Camera
Sounds like you are looking for a quick splice connector. The one you'll want is the part # SWC501746-1. This fits gauges of 14-18 which is where your reverse light wiring will fall.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Lock Up in Reverse with One Truck but Not Others
Sounds like your trailer has surge brakes and the 7-way of your truck does not have the reverse light circuit complete which is preventing the reverse lockout from functioning properly. What you would need to do is run a wire from the center pin of the 7-way on your truck to the wire of your reverse lights that goes hot when you put the vehicle in reverse. Once you do that the reverse lockout solenoid will function properly. You'd want to use a quick splice like the part # SWC501746-1...

  • Orange Square Displaying on the Peak Performance Digital Wireless Backup Camera Part PKC0RB
I called my contact at Peak Performance and they stated that the reason you are experiencing the orange square in the middle of the monitor on your Peak Performance Digital Wireless Backup Camera part PKC0RB is that there is a communication issue between the camera and monitor. What you will want to do is check the splice on the vehicle's reverse wire where the camera is attached in addition to the ground wire coming from the camera itself. I find it best to use something like part # SWC501746-1...

  • Quick Splice Connector Recommendation for Tapping into Stoplight Switch Circuit
We don't have that info but I would almost guarantee it's a 16 gauge wire. The good news is that the part # SWC501746-1 is a quick splice that fits gauges between 14 and 18 so it should work the best.

  • Installing the Power Wire of a Backup Camera to the Reverse Light Power on 2006 Honda Odyssey
I looked up your specific vehicle and the green wire will be the positive wire and the black the ground. So you will connect your red wire on your backup camera to the green wire using a Quick Splice Wire Connector - Tan - 14-18 AWG (Qty 1) # 564.

  • Wiring Reverse Light Circuit to 7 Way Connector on 2016 GMC Terrain
The center pin of a 7-way is typically the reverse light circuit. You'd need to tap into the reverse light circuit of your 2016 GMC Terrain to activate it. For a quick splice for 14-18 gauge wire you'd want # SWC501746-1 or for 10-12 gauge wire # SWC501915-1. I'd recommend strongly that you run the 12 volt power wire back to the positive post of the battery and not to a 12 volt outlet to prevent shorting out that circuit.

  • Taillight Converter Recommendation for Adding Dedicated Stop and Turn Signals to Trailer
You can use the turn signal converter part # 118158 to accomplish what you are trying to do but instead of cutting the trailer wiring to run to the input side of the wiring you'd need to use something like a quick splice part # SWC501746-1 so that you can get the signals you need ran to the converter without stopping the circuit from getting to the combined taillights you already have. Once you do this the output side of the converter box will have separate stop and turn signals available...

In order to wire a european trailer connector onto your Explorer you would need to splice into each circuit on the vehicle with a quick splice connector like part # SWC501746-1 and then run the wire to respective terminal on the trailer connector.

  • How to Add a Third Brake Light to a Trailer
To add a third brake light to a trailer is pretty simple, but does require an adapter to convert the signal. Because trailer tail light systems combine the stop lamp and turn signals for each side onto a single circuit, you will need to use a vehicle-to-vehicle tail light converter, part # 118158 to split the brake light circuit back out. • How To Add In-Bed Gooseneck Wiring To a Chevrolet C/K Series
I have the perfect solution for you to add an in-bed gooseneck wiring harness to your 1994 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup with the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185. For this, you can use part # 20023. This option will allow you to retain the use of both connection points.

If your reverse light circuit is not functioning on your 2001 Ford F-150 then it could be a blown or missing fuse in the tow package wiring. Under the hood in the power distribution box, check the fuse in location 6 and the relay in location 203. If either is blown or missing then it will need to be replaced. • Trailer Left Turn Signal Does Not Work After Installing Hopkins Backup Camera on 2015 Ford F-150
It sounds to me like something is not wired correctly inside of the connectors on backup camera # HM50002. Make sure that on both halves of the connectors the wires are attached to the pins and that there are no broken wires or bent pins in the connectors. The connectors are basically a pass-through device. The camera only needs the reverse light circuit to turn on (and the ground). So the only thing it could be is a broken connection from a wire or wires or bent/broken pins on the inside. Worse...

Then to convert this to a 7-way to match your trailer you need the part # 37185. The purple wire of this kit needs to be connected to your reverse light circuit and you will be set. Instead your best option is a 4-way to 5-way adapter part # 20036 which plugs into your current 4-way and then gives you an additional wire you'd run to the reverse light circuit of your truck.
