Brad Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the vehicle-specific wiring harness, that will work in conjunction with the Tow-Pro Elite electric trailer brake controller. These harnesses are going to be great to work with your Tow-Pro Elite in a variety of different trucks and SUVs. Now, make sure that you get your vehicle-specific harness. You're going to want to use our fit guide on "etrailer.com", and that's going to make sure that you get the right harness, and that way your install goes nice and easy.
Included in the REDARC kit, you will find this plugin adapter, and this is going to have these spliced ends, and you're gonna have to tie into your brake signal, your brake output, your power output and your ground. Now, if you are pretty handy with electrical, that's awesome. That's great. You can use this. But I'm the kind of person, plug and play in OEM kind of setup or really nice factory one like this.
This is the vehicle-specific harness. So this ties in directly to our factory tow system, and clips right in, it's got this nice braided sheathing on it, to kind of protect the wires, and then it plugs directly into our module here. So, to save yourself a little bit of headache and time, and make the install go that much smoother, and not have to worry about loose connections, I highly recommend getting the vehicle-specific harness. So this end of the plug is specific to your vehicle. As you can tell, it looks like the factory plug, it fits in perfect, has the locking mechanism, so you aren't gonna have to worry about loose connections happening with your plug, and it's going to make install a lot easier.

I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E (pre-wired 7 pin connections) and a 2019 R Pod 179. I am relatively handy with small carpentry repairs and computer repairs. I do not have a lot of automotive repair experience. Installation on the Ridgeline went well. I expected the hardest part to be removal of the plastic dash, when it reality, the most difficult part was drilling the hole through the dash in the appropriate place. I had to consult an online video to locate the connector under the Ridgeline’s dash to find it. The spot I wanted to install the dial had a bracket behind the dash and the back part of the dial would not have fit properly. In use, I’m still not 100% sure I have it calibrated correctly, but I was happy to have the brake controller while town in busy highway traffic through the city. I had to brake hard a few times, and I felt the trailer brakes working. Overall, installation was relatively easy, and I think I have it working right. I recommend this controller.

Super easy install. Unit tucked behind metal bracket easily and zip tied. Used the angle cat cable on the bottom as you can see.

This wiring harness was a perfect match for my 2017 Honda Ridgeline truck.
Nice compact unit. Easy to install with the plug in kit for my Honda Pilot. Tricky to "tie" in place, however with some contorting - I managed well enough. Wish this came with a face plate for the Honda Pilot for a blank spot - I ended up using a blank plate and "form Fitting" the control.
Shipping took too long. I thought it was lost in the mail. Other items ordered from a similar location arrived in a reasonable time - this took a long time.
Why mess with splcing? This works perfectly with a 2024 Honda Ridgeline and a Redarc Tow Pro Liberty controller.
Easy plug n play on my Ridgeline. Works great with both of my trailers. I have the remote knob mounted in a factory block off plate looks stock works as well as any integrated controller.
It's been a year and it still works well. I'd recommend this product.

I purchased the Redarc Liberty for a new Honda Ridgeline which replaced an F250 with an old technology two dial proportional brake controller. This Redarc not only installed easily and cleanly in the more confined cabin of the Honda, its advanced one dial adjustment makes it more user friendly to adjust, and the settings are easily repeatable. For example, my trailer empty on hardtop gets 4, trailer with tractor 5.5, trailer with 1 yard of gravel a 6.5; on a dirt or gravel road just subtract 1 position on the knob.
The photos reflect my mounting technique which consisted of constructing a small open-back box of 1/4" MDF. The Universal Mounting Panel accessory worked well with the MDF. A coating of textured paint to match the interior makes it look almost OEM. Velcro holds the box securely yet allows for easy removal for whatever reason. The wire tucks neatly between the lower steering wheel valance and the console trim--can't see it even if looking for it, and no holes drilled in the dash.
Overall very happy with this product and with etrailer answering my questions and processing the order quickly.
This wiring harness is absolutely plug and play! Simple and easy to install.

Flawless performance and discrete control design
Great little unit, easiest install ever. 2021 Honda Pilot with factory tow package. You have to purchase a separate wiring harness to use this controller. Used the TPSI-001 switch insert for a factory look. Picture shows where I used a dremel tool to widen the back of the insert hole just a little for the switch insert to fit in the factory location.
After a year of use, I am pleased with the performance of the brake controller. Wish Honda had left more room under the dash for the installation, but I got it done.
This harness is as advertised… plug and play. Simplifies the install immensely.
Easy hookup. But never bought the trai ler.
Fantastic service this is a plug and play cable to match the factory plug to the brake controller.
This harness connected directly to the factory connection. I would recommend to anyone looking to add this to their Honda Pilot.

The harness installed great, and after being on several lengthy trips with my RV, I have experienced no problems at all with the braking system. I would definitely recommend.
The wiring harness works perfectly. Honda managed to hide the plug-in on the backside of a wiring bundle that made the plug hard find, but once located everything was easy to install.
I am not afraid to cut and splice wiring but this harness made it ridiculously simple.
Totally "plug and play" on my Pilot with factory towing package. Very easy installation.
It does fit a 2023 Honda Ridgeline
