Is there a way for me to tell if I installed the brake controller correctly even if I dont have anything plugged into the 7 pin connector?

You can use a Tekonsha 7-Way, RV-Style Tester for Brake Controllers # 6562 to test the installation of the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR and Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED59FR on your 2020 Honda Ridgeline. This will allow you to test the controller functionality without having the trailer connected to your Ridgeline.
