Features to know about

Smooth and Steady Lifting: 15" Travel for Easy Hookups

Getting your trailer leveled or hitched doesn’t need to be a chore. This sidewind A-frame jack from Dutton-Lainson gives you a full 15" of travel, making it easy to raise and lower your trailer smoothly. The handle turns cleanly and with little effort, even under load, so you can fine-tune the height without fighting friction or binding. With a maximum tongue height of 29-3/4" and a compact build that measures 15-1/4" from the bracket to the top of the jack, it fits neatly without getting in the way.

Built to Last: Zinc Plated TUFFPLATE Finish Resists Corrosion

Rain, road spray, and storage time can take their toll on ordinary jacks. This one holds up thanks to Dutton-Lainson’s zinc plated yellow chromate TUFFPLATE finish, which provides three times the corrosion resistance of standard zinc plating and even 30 percent more protection than a powder coat. Lab tests confirm over 500 hours against first red rust and 100 hours against first white corrosion in a 5% neutral salt spray test. That kind of durability keeps the jack looking and working like new season after season.

Simple Fitment: 2" Outer Tube for Tight A-Frame Openings

Older or compact trailers often have smaller jack openings where standard 2-1/4" models won’t fit. The 2" outer tube and 1-3/4" inner tube on this A-frame jack make it a perfect match for those setups. It can be welded or bolted to a standard A-frame coupler and uses the typical 3-hole mounting pattern with holes spaced 3" apart. Whether you’re replacing a worn-out factory jack or restoring a vintage trailer, installation is fast and straightforward.

Customize Your Setup: Optional Foot or Wheel for Flexibility

Not every parking spot is level ground, and sometimes you need different ways to support or move your trailer. The jack is ready to pair with a removable foot plate (part # DL22541) or a wheel caster (part # DL22414), so you can tailor it for stability or mobility. The removable design keeps things simple—use the wheel when you want to roll, or swap to a foot when you want solid footing.

Reliable Performance: 1,000-lb Capacity and 3-Year Limited Warranty

With a 1,000-lb lift capacity, this jack handles small to mid-size trailers confidently. It’s the kind of steady, no-nonsense performance that just works every time you reach for the handle. And with a 3-year limited warranty, the A-Frame Trailer Jack by Dutton-Lainson is built and backed to keep your trailer ready whenever you are.

Nice trailer jack. Fit perfect in place of my broken one.

by:

Although I haven't had a chance to install my new products yet I have to tell you how happy I was to recieve my shipment so quickly. Well done etrailer!

by:

Great product wish they had the option of coming without the triangle mounting. I will have to remove this but so happy to find this size for my vintage trailer!

by:

Excellent product the quality was better than the original jack on the camper from the manufacturer

by:

Looks like a good jack that will fit the smaller outer tube dimension for a vintage trailer.

by:

One year of service - so far so good.

by:

This was a good replacement for the original on our vintage camper. Pretty simple - just used a grinder to remove the welded on old one, and bolts to attach the new.

PURCHASED NEW COUPLER, JACK, AND FOOT.
ALL
WERE OF GOOD QUALITY, THE COUPLER, INSTALLED, QUITE EASILY, (REPLACEMENT FOR WORN OUT COUPLER)
THE JACK AND FOOT PA WORK VERY WELL.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Unfortunately my initial search for a replacement for the Atwood Model 80274 suggested the Pro Series 2000 LB jack. But trying to install that jack I found it was too big. However talking directly to customer service they were able to direct me to thing model jack which was a direct replacement that I needed. They took back the wrong jack with no problems.

by:

This trailer Jack has all the capacity and lift height I need. It cranks easy, has a nice finish and in my opinion, of good quality.

by:

Nice fit great product

by:

*Although I have not installed the trailer jack yet it looks like a direct replacement for the original one on my boat trailer. The wheel that goes with the jack definitely looks like a better fit than original.
*The electrical 4 conductor plug set... I'm using for a quick disconnect for a third
( center ) brake light for tailgaters

Once again, etrailer impresses me. Ordered my jack stand on Friday and it arrived on Saturday. What great service!

I love the products and the value. The lights and jack are hard at work on my boat trailer. Thanks for the follow up.

by:

It was really hard finding a jack that fit my 25 year old trailer because the new standard outer poles are 2 1/4' and I needed 2". This one worked thankfully. However, the way the crank is mounted, it is impossible to turn because my propane tanks are in the way. I thought the crank would logically be on the side where the triangular plate naturally sits toward the front of the hitch. Unfortunately, I had to rotate it so it doesn't line up with the three bolt holes and will have to drill an additional hole to make it work. Strange and illogical design.... As you can see in the attached photo, if mounted correctly (the flat side of the triangular mount in front), the crank would not be functional as the propane tanks would be in the way, so I had to rotate the mount and now the 3 holes don't line up.

Thanks for the detailed review Jennifer. I am sorry the jack did not work as expected, finding parts for older trailers can be tricky, and quite often do require some modification. This will be very helpful to others with the same set-up.

by:

Good service. Jack looks good and works well after I reamed 1/16” off the I.D. of the lower hole in my vintage boat trailer frame. The lower Jack mounting frame hole was a slightly smaller diameter than the top Jack mounting hole in the frame. Other than that install went well.

by:

The trailer jack was easy to install and works great. The removable foot is very convenient.

by:

Most 1000 lb jacks are too wide for older camper trailers like mine. This was the only option i could find with a diameter of 2 inches! Took some elbow greasr, but once it went in the rest was easy and the included hardware worked very well. I would recommend adding 3-6 washers as they're not included and make a difference. It cranks clean and smooth! Great product so far. Customer service was very active and helpful in making sure I got what I needed and there were no issues. Odelia was very helpful! Thank you etrailer!

by:

Once I modified my camper tongue, the jack fit and operated flawlessly.

  • Trailer Jacks Manufactured in the USA
There are some Dutton-Lainson trailer jacks that are made in the USA as well as a few that are not. I looked up your trailer and found that it's a standard A-frame trailer so for a jack the # TJA-5000S-B which is a very popular option would fit and work well. It's a sidewind trailer jack with a 5,000 lb capacity.

  • What Weight Capacity of Tongue Jack is Needed for a 4,600 Pound Dry Weight Trailer
The rule of thumb for estimating a tongue weight is 10-15 percent of trailer weight. A 4,600 pound trailer would have a tongue weight between 460 and 690 pounds. Somewhere between a 1,000 to 2,000 pound capacity jack would be fine. Having a jack that is rated for more than the tongue weight is not a problem. The jack you were looking at Pro Series A-Frame Topwind Jack, part # PSEA20000103, would work fine. You could also use Dutton-Lainson jack, part # DL22530 or Bulldog Heavy Duty Jack...

  • Looking For A-Frame Trailer Jack With 2" OD Tube
Hey Clark, thanks for reaching out. The 2" OD A-frame jacks are pretty uncommon these days. Right now, we carry only one jack with a 2" OD tube, the A-Frame Trailer Jack # DL22530. The problem is, when this jack is fully retracted, the tube sticks down 8-1/4" below the frame. Based on the setup you are describing, this would not work for your trailer since it would sit too low and probably scrape the ground. If I were you, I'd look at swapping out the A-frame jack for a side mounted jack...

Hey Jeff, the diameter of the outer tube of the Jack part # DL22530 is 2 inches. the diameter of the inner tube is 1-3/4 inches so this would work for you. Most jacks have a slightly larger outer tube at 2-1/4 inches which is why you are probably having a harder time finding a replacement. What brand jack was on there before?

  • Looking For A-Frame Trailer Jack With 2-1/8" OD Tube Or Smaller
Hello Jason, thanks for reaching out. Pretty much all the round-tube A-frame jacks we carry have a 2-1/4" tube which is standard. Right now we have only one jack with a smaller tube, the A-Frame Trailer Jack # DL22530. This has a 1,000 lb capacity and a 2" OD tube. We do not have anything with a 2-1/8" tube.

  • Availability Of Trailer Jack with 2" diameter Outer Tube
The Bulldog # BD1500520317 has a 2-1/4" outer tube diameter, so if your jack opening is less than 2" this isn't going to work, unless you can increase the opening for your bracket to fit a 2-1/4" tube. The only jack we offer that has a smaller outer tube is the Dutton-Lainson # DL22530 which has a 2" outer tube. Based on your pictures though, I'd recommend cutting that bracket off the frame and having the bracket # P9012-00 welded on so you can use the new jack # FTJ120W0301

The wheel will make it easy to maneuver the trailer into the hitching position. It's recommended that the wheel is removed before travel.
