Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Curt Mounting Bracket for 7-Way Connector Plug

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Curt 7 Pole Bracket. We're gonna use this to install to extend out, where we want our 7 pole plugin to be. Let's check it out. Every setup is a little bit different when you go to add wiring to your vehicle. Sometimes there's not a whole lot of room underneath.

So on our vehicle today, we wanna bring the adapter further out so it's easier to plug in our trailer. You don't want it in back here behind the hitch and there's not really room up here towards the top. So with the long bracket, we attach the 7 pole bracket so it has a spot to stay all the time and we know it's secure. As far as install goes, I would just go ahead and get a long bracket to extend it away from the vehicle so you have something to attach to. But check out how I did it.

We have everything set up here. We're ready to add our 7 pole bracket, and this has the holes here to line up with the top. So it'll just drop our pole through, line up that first one, I'm gonna put a nut on the backside that'll help hold it in place. So now we're gonna add a nut on this side. You wanna make sure you look at the spacing between the holes.

So this bracket is gonna work best with the hole spacing, which is gonna be from center to center on these mounting holes that has this spacing of 2-1/4". Now if you had one that had 2-1/2" like this other one, the holes just aren't gonna line up correctly. You want a different 7 pole bracket, which Pollak offers that as well, that it fits way better. So you just slide that in there and already see 'cause the slot and holes are gonna be more adaptable to whatever setup you have. Same thing with the hardware.

Pull a bolt through here and then add it out on the backside. And we're gonna do that for all 4 holes on our 7 pole. With all 4 of these installed, we'll come back with our wrench, go on the back and then use a flat blade screwdriver to finish tightening it down so the plug stays in place. That about does it for a quick look at the 7 pole bracket, really easy to install and really helpful to have to get that 7 pole moved out more towards the back of the vehicle. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, hope this helped.

Nice bracket, but it does not fit the hole pattern on the Curt seven pin round plug for the 2025 Honda Pilot wire harness kit. I had to drill new holes.

by:

This mounting holes on this didn't fit any of the Curt wiring harnesses I had. I ended up using it by zip tying a couple of mounting holes on the wiring harness and bracket, but they broke during use and I ended up ruining my trailer connector. I replaced it with the Curt 58000 easy mount, which worked much better and didn't require any drilling on the body of the vehicle. Not sure why Curt sells a plate that doesn't match the hole locations on most of its wiring harnesses.

by:

Mounting bracket did not lineup with the seven wire plug at all, modifications were required

by:

This bracket DOES NOT amount on properly to a 2023 Honda Pilot. The class 3 hitch mounting point is more on a slight angle. I’m not one to custom anything thinking this would just mount up but it doesnt

by:

Comes with zero hardware and bolt hole spacing for the 118266 wiring harness that I bought here do not line up at all. Good thing the bumper had a cutout ready to install the 7 way plug connector.

by:

Thanks guys my trailer hitch for my 2024 GMC Acadia fits perfectly and the wire harness fits perfect also I received it in great timing. I’m well pleased with the hitch

by:

This is kinda flimsy but it works. There are no mounting holes with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" trailer hitch mount I purchased, so I had to drill holes into the steel, which is kind of a pain, but like I said, it works, so if you're ok with that approach, I'd recommend it.

by:

Thin and flimsy. Holes on the "universal" plate didn't line up with the C56413 7 pin wiring harness from the same brand.

by:

Won’t work with end connection of 7 pin connector had to by one at orileys it’s holes don’t line up not even close

I have pulled both the bracket, part # C67UR and the harness you had purchased, part # C68JR for measurements. As you have mentioned, this harness does not fit with this bracket. However, we do have a bracket, part # HM48625 that will fit the harness you had purchased.

by:

It doesn’t match up with the seven way connector plug holes are all off for bolts

by:

Hole pattern did not line up with Curt wiring harness kit I purchased. Not wide enough to be able to modify/redrill. Kind of worthless!

by:

Mount holes are not same as the 7pin plug bought also on etrailer

by:

Cheaply made problem to flimsy material

I hear ya, Warren. I appreciate your honest opinion on this part!

by:

I'll give this an average review since it's possible I just didn't order the right bracket, but the holes on this bracket didn't line up with the holes on the 7 way. Also, this is only helpful if you have either a metal bumper or a hitch kit that hangs lower. For my 2025 Honda Pilot I ended up having to install the 7 way directly into the bumper by cutting a hole, which looks nice and works great but made ordering this bracket pointless. I think this was only like 7$ so I'm not mad, just do your research first and see if you even need it and make sure the holes will line up.

by:

The predrilled holes didn't match up with the plug assembly.i just drilled it out and attached it that way.

by:

Well built

by:

Worked great

by:

great product

by:

Fit great. Easy install

by:

Attached to my small John Deere tractor. Worker fine.

by:

Does not fit the trailer harness I ordered with it, although it said it would.

by:

Solid part but only two holes matched the 7 pin plug supplied with my Curt custom wiring kit. I also chose to drill the mounting holes larger to use 1/4” screws.

Needed this for my 7 pin install and it worked great.

Does not work well with the etrailer 7way kit I bought. Holes do not line up

  • Recommended Hitch, Wiring Harness, and Brake Controller for a 2021 Kia Telluride?
Hey Robert. A class III hitch like the Curt item # C13420 is exactly what you need for your 2021 Kia Telluride. It is custom fit and has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity. You'll easily be able to pull a 3,500 lbs Colman 13b with this hitch. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C68JR you referenced, will fit your 2021 Telluride if your have the factory tow package. This is a 7-way connector that will allow you to control all the lighting functions and brakes on a trailer. The...

Hey Chris welcome back! The Curt Mounting Bracket for 7-Way Connector Plug item # C67UR will indeed fit the mounting tab on the Draw-Tite Hitch item # 76290. Both of them have bolt hole spacing of 2-1/4". If you have any additional questions feel free to throw them into the comment box below and I'll be happy to help you.

  • What 4-Way and 7-Way Plug do You Recommend for My 2017 Subaru Outback?
For the 4-pin harness for your 2017 Subaru Outback, I recommend using the Curt T Connector # C56040. The converter box in the Curt models is better quality than the Hopkins wiring options. There is no splicing required to install the T Connector onto your vehicle. Once the 4-pin is installed, you are ready to install the 7-pin harness. For that part, you need the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This kit does require splicing into your current wiring. If you plan to use a brake controller...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2019 Honda Passport
Hi Al; we don't have any kind of package price but I can answer your questions. The # 76290 will work well but the etrailer # e44AR will help save you some extra money. The only difference between the two is the capacity. It looks like the 2019 Passport tops at at 5,000 lbs for the towing capacity so the additional capacity from the Draw-Tite won't make a difference. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # CU86FR comes with everything you need to install...

  • What Size Mounting Bolts are Needed to Install the Curt 7-Way RV-Style Trailer Connector C58155?
Hey Felix, welcome back. To install the Curt 7-Way RV-Style Trailer Connector item # C58155, you'll want to use four .19" diameter x 1" long bolts and nuts. This will secure it to the Curt Mounting Bracket item # C67UR, you purchased. I recommend using some Loctite Threadlocker 242 item # LT37418 when you bolt the 7-way to the bracket. If you have any additional questions, go ahead and click on the box below that says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

  • Best 2024 Honda Passport Trailer Hitch and Wiring Setup
I really like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e44AR for your 2024 Honda Passport because it's the only option with a matte black finish that not only looks better, but is also more durable than the classic glossy black we see on the other hitches for your Passport. Then for wiring you can either go with the 4-Way # C56291 or the 7-Way # CU86FR depending on what type of connector your trailer has. I also recommend picking up the No-Drill Bracket # C57202 along with the 4-Way Bracket...

  • Parts Needed To Tow A 3,300lb Trailer With A 2024 Ford Ranger
Hey John, The common consensus on capacity is that you should really only use 80-85% to give yourself a margin or error. At 3,300lbs you'd be at roughly 94% capacity so you still technically could but it's likely going to sag the rear suspension and be tough to pull. Even though Rangers are pretty well known for being overloaded and powering through I'd recommend adding in a bit of suspension enhancement or using a weight distribution hitch to help control the trailer and keep it tracking...

  • 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness Recommendations
The trailer hitches and wiring harnesses listed for your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe will fit whether you have a Hybrid model or not. Because of this I recommend the following: - etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # C37RV - Wiring Harness with 4-Way # CU94FR OR with 7-Way # C68JR To keep the wiring plug easily accessible next to your hitch receiver I recommend picking up the No-Drill Bracket # C57202 along with part # 18144 for a 4-Way or part # C67UR for a 7-Way. • Draw Tite Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2024 Honda Passport Black Edition
Sorry for the confusion Michael but the Draw Tite hitch part # 76290 that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2024 Honda Passport Black Edition. To use the Curt Echo Mobile brake controller # C51180 you would need a functional 7-way at the rear of the vehicle which we have with the part # C35ZV. The Draw Tite hitch has a bracket on it for mounting trailer wiring so the only thing else you'd need is the part # C67UR and you'd be set.

  • Best Way To Attach Trailer Plug Bracket To A Trailer Hitch Without A Pre Welded Bracket
As far as the mounting bracket, you can absolutely screw it directly to the hitch if you want. We do this frequently in our own installs and it will not compromise the strength of the hitch in any way. Now putting a few holes in the hitch does open up the potential for rust, since we are compromising the powder coating, but the risk is small. You could use the bracket # BK4F for a 4-flat or use the # C67UR for a 7 way, and a self tapping screw like # 101131802. If you do not want to drill...

The Curt mount item # C67UR will attach your 7-way connector to the left of your receiver so it stays out of the way and readily available for use. • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For A 2024 Honda Pilot
Hi Pete, Yes, we currently offer the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e27KR for your 2024 Honda Pilot. This is a custom-fit installation but the crosstube will interfere with the space available for your spare tire so you won't be able to mount a full-size spare and would need a donut-style spare. This hitch comes with a 6K towing capacity and 600lb tongue weight capacity, but you'll want to refer to your owner's manual to confirm your Pilot's limitations. If you plan on towing a trailer...
