Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Great quality product and very simple and easy to install. Would highly recommend this company and product.

Received hitch and installed with no problems, thank you for the excellent service.

by:

As advertised, it came complete with drawbar, is well made, and dead simple to install. I'm happy.

Product is of great quality. Direct Bolt-in, and shipped on time. etrailer makes ordering your towing products easy and efficient.

Everything went perfect; arrived on time. Product fit perfectly. Price was excellent. Great follow up by etrailer. 5 Star

by:

Trailer hitch came in on time. Looks great. Took about 10 minutes for two of to install it. I am super happy I bought it from etrailer.com.

by:

The hitch was delivered fast. It was easy to install 4 bolts and done. It took about 15 mins to install. Quality is very good. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good hitch. I installed it on our 2016 Toyota Corolla.

by:

Hitch and wiring kit fit perfectly on 2010 Corolla as expected.
etrailer products and service are all ways great.

by:

works exactly as advertised. came with draw bar as advertised. fits my 2011 Toyota Corolla LE perfect. came with appropriate new bolts. instructions were perfect. can't complain. it towed a light duty trailer with no problem.

by:

This hitch was the easiest one I ever put on and I have put a few on in 65 years. Had it on the car in less than 1/2 hour. Very fast delivery and easy to follow instructions. This hitch will be used to move around it’s own dolly. This car will be towed by a Class C RV and if I get in a tight situation I can take the car off the dolly and hook it on the car to free up the RV to back up etc.

by:

Ordered the Hidden Hitch, Curt Wiring Harness & 2' Hitch Ball from Etrailer and everything arrived promptly, fit perfectly and were easy to install! Have towed rental trailers numerous times over the past year as we are relocating to Nevada from California and every trip has gone flawlessly.

I highly recommend this set-up and buying it from Etrailer for any Toyota Corolla owner who needs to occasionally tow a small utility trailer. The only issue (minor at that) is that you need to be careful pulling in and out of driveways as the hitch can bottom out if it is a steep enough incline. Just get in the habit of driving in and out at a slight angle so the rear wheels don't hit the dip at the same time.

by:

Excellent product. I received my hitch in two days after ordering and was able to get it installed just in time for an out of town trip. Now I can take my bikes! I've purchased other items from etrailer.com and have never been disappointed. Definitely my first choice for any hitch or towing related needs. Buy with confidence. Only complaint was the threaded areas were rusted on the car I put this on. If it wasn't for that, I would've had this installed in 5 minutes. (I had to get a tap to re-open the threads and then use an air impact to get the supplied bolts in place. )

by:

etrailer shipped item fast and I received a few days later. I installed hitch this morning. Instructions and video by etrailer were perfect. It took about 30 minutes for me to do. Definitely need a socket extension to get around muffler. I used car ramps to get under my car and a milk crate to hold one side of hitch up while I bolted in the other side. Im going to be using this hitch with my bike rack.

2018 Honda Accord

This is my second Draw-Tite hitch. I've had one on my 04 Accord for ~8 years. Today we installed on a 2018 Corolla SE. The installation was a breeze with my son's help (ok, I helped him). We jacked up the rear of the car, which makes seeing the holes much easier. We did not need to pull the muffler off its hanger. As advised by others, we reamed out the holes using the male end of a battery terminal cleaner, after which the fasteners fit tightly but securely. I would not clean the holes with any lubricant as shown in the video. My son thought about using lock-tite but after seeing how tightly the fasteners fit, decided against it. The hitch is very heavy duty and well made, and the fit is perfect. The top of the hitch fits right against the jack point. Shown in the pictures is the installation with and without my Swagman Trailhead 2-bike carrier, which has carried bikes many tens of thousands of miles over the years. I do recommend a hitch cover, which helps to slow corrosion of the inside of the receiver.

The hitch has been great. No interior corrosion, which I experienced with my previous hitch.

2014 Toyota Corolla

Great hitch. Easy installation except for having to tap my weld nut threads first. My one complaint: etrailer, please inform people that they may need their threads tapped before install, even after cleaning with a wire brush. My car only has 45,000 miles but still had corrosion in the weld nut threads that required tapping. Otherwise, excellent customer service and I will most definitely purchase from again and recommend to people (already have). Thanks!

Ended up selling the vehicle, and I really wish I would have removed this product for our other Corolla same generation. Will likely buy again when the time is right.

2014 Toyota Corolla

Quick delivery and installation. Video was very helpful. 2014 Corolla I used the box to prop-up the hitch while I bolted it in place. I believe the Curt hitch has the ball included but instructions showed the removal of the plastic splash guard so I opted for the Draw-tight which did not.

Easy 5 minute install by myself. Looks great. Fits perfectly. When locked down with bikes on my rack there is zero wobble or movement at the connection or any other point with this set up. Rock solid with my Saris bike rack.

Toyota Corolla

Glad to have a top quality Draw-Tite hitch from etrailer on my '17 Toyota Corolla SE (with a six-speed MANUAL transmission. Ohh yeah!)
Some notes about the installation.
The plastic cover plate below the trunk well would not come off. Those darned 12mm nuts could not be removed. No matter. The hitch can be installed with that cover plate in place.
From heaving the hitch up off my chest to the frame and getting the first bolt threaded to torquing down the last blue threadlock-covered bolt in place, doing the job by myself, about a half hour.
One thing that concerns me about the hitch is that it covers the pin hole that Toyota put on that car. There is an upside down cup with a pin sticking up adapter that fits on the head of my floor jack. This adapter is used to jack up the rear of this car. With the hitch covering that hole, the hitch itself is the rear jack point. I hope this is not a problem. Sometimes I have to question why automobile engineers design things the way they do.
All in all, a great hitch value from etrailer.

by:

I believe this is the 5th hitch I have purchased from etrailer. I primarily use these hitches for a hitch bicycle rack that I can swap between vehicles. Installation was straight forward as usual. Since I installed it on a used vehicle, I did have to spend a lot of time with a steel tube brush and a can of WD40 cleaning out the threads in the vehicle frame. Once the bolts went in and out without resistance, the installation was smooth sailing from then on.

2011 Toyota Corolla

Fantastic product. Fit my 2011 Toyota Corolla perfectly. Amazing customer service. Maybe one of the best customer service companies I've interacted with. Online instructions on how to install and thorough comparisons between the different hitches. Even a recommendation for which cargo loader would be appropriate!

I installed this hitch on my own in about 20 minutes. Took another 30 minutes to assemble and install my cargo carrier. All finished under an hour with just a socket wrench.

I'll be using this to haul my things on a cross country trip. Also, planning on using it to move my bike around since it won't cause as much wind resistance as the roof car racks and those were super expensive and easily stolen.

by:
2014 Toyota Corolla

This hitch got delivered quickly, along with the wiring harness and ball mount I ordered. It's readily apparent that these are now designed and built with the aid of computers: The hitch fit absolutely perfectly, and hugged the contour (fit) of the car very closely.
I ordered the wrong ball mount-please don't laugh!!!!
(Jena helped me out and the right one got delivered today.)

by:

The hitch is great, the installation was extremely easy. Everything fit perfectly, it looks really nice on the car. The online videos on the website were very helpful. I don't think I would have attemted this without first seeing the difficulty of the installation process. I have a bike rack that I will be using with the new hitch. This will save me a lot of money in gas as I have previously been using a Jeep Grand Cherokee to transport the bike.

  • Are Class II Hitches Available for a 2007 Toyota Corolla?
Each hitch that is available for a 2007 Toyota Corolla is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver such as the Draw-Tite # 24913. According to the '07 Corolla's owners manual, the towing capacity of the vehicle is 1,500 lbs, which is why there are no Class II hitches available. The Class I Draw-Tite has a 2,000 lbs towing capacity and 200 lbs tongue weight capacity, and if you were looking to tow, you would need to add a 4-flat connector # 55542 as well as drawbar # 3593, which comes with...

I took a look at an online copy of the owner's manual for a 2018 Toyota Corolla and it simply states that towing a trailer is not recommended with the vehicle so the decision will ultimately be up to you. If you do decide to use your '18 Corolla to pull your jet ski you will need a trailer hitch, wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your '18 Corolla is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24913 because it is a bolt-on installation that will not require...

The concept of a hitch adapter like the Brophy # HTAD is a good idea in theory but the problem with using one of those with a 1-1/4" hitch, like part # C11265 or # 24913 for your 2015 Toyota Corolla, is that it will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. Since those trailer hitches have a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs this means that the tongue weight will be reduced to 100 lbs. The 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18145 is 7-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier, so it will fit and give you 5-1/4 inches clearance. For overall quality the Curt hitches like the # C12136 that you referenced are the winners.
