Worked great to keep the uhaul trailer I towed level even with lowering springs on my 2017 Mazda 3 Touring

by:

You’re gonna love this! I put the hitch on my Corvette to haul a small luggage trailer on long trips. The hitch works great!

by:

This part came with the trailer hitch I purchased.

It was very easy to transfer the ball from my 2" hitch and voila I am now ready to haul my trailer.

Comments
am extremely satisfied with the products I purchased. I use theTow Hitch almost daily for my bicycle rack and a trailer I have to tow. The installation was a quick and easy. I have recommended your website to about 20-25 people over the past year. Hopefully you received some business from my recommendations. Thanks for following up. Not all companies take the time.

by:

Fit nicely in the hitch receiver and is a good height for my small boat trailer.

by:

Typical quality of...VERY good!! Lol. I've pulled my small mc trailer numerous times with this hitch and NO issues!!!

by:

If it was not for etrailer, I would not have the hitch installed in a expedient manner. [towing company] could not come through with a installation or a hitch. Very grateful etrailer and my hitch in stock

by:

Exactly as described, fit perfect. Seen here with ball and receiver.

by:

Outstanding service and customer support was on point.

by:

Great quality steel and thick strong hot welds. This item was worth the money compared to lower quality products for the same price.

by:

The product is great quality and perfect fit. I just dont like that the pin hits the rings on the hitch because it is loose enough to move around while driving. Other than that this is great.

by:

Item works well with the hitch and wiri ng!

by:

I was completely satisfied and very impressed thoughout my first experience with etrailer.com. The website provided exactly the educational material I need to correctly order the products. My order was unexpectedly upgraded for faster shipment, at no cost. The only glitch was the pin and clip were missing. After calling customer service they gave me several options. I bought the pin locally and etrailer.com promptly credit my account for my cost. I'm glad I found etrailer.com and heartily recommend them!

by:

Not very happy with getting a used or returned ball mount from etrailer.com, should not have any rust or dents when I buy a new one. Sending a mail to customer service for a RA#, hopefully they will correct this problem. The wiring harness I order was the other item I ordered and it was in good shape. My experience with them has been up to this point excellent.

by:

I've only technically used it once but drove with it for over 5,000 miles so I'd say that says something! I used it with my Prius to help tow a nine foot Uhaul trailer with my motorcycle and a bunch of other stuff from my apartment from Tennessee to Massachusetts. Quality product!

by:

The [online] video of the install made the installation straight forward and simple. The products are as expected.

by:

Super easy to install, fast shipping and great quality products

by:

Nice drawbar, good price.

by:

I bought this hitch a year ago,put it on my Mitsubishi marage I pull 14' alumun boats with it works great love it,and it was easy to in stall

by:

it's solid and well built - install was straightforward.

by:

Works fine just wish it was about 6 inches longer so I didn't have to trim the bumper

by:

I will be replacing the hitch pin with one that has a hole for the cotter pin.

by:

Very well built fits the hitch I purchased I will be using it often to pull my trailer with my 12' jon boat to go fishing.

by:

Package arrived on time, in less than 2 hours from when it was delivered to being completely done, wiring and all. This was the first time I have done this, not a big challenge!

by:

Good product and performs as expected.

by:

Works perfectly

  • Does the Draw-Tite Class II Ball Mount # 3593 Use a 5/8 Inch Diameter Hitch Pin
Class I and II accessories like the Draw-Tite Class I Ball Mount you referenced all use a 1/2 inch hitch pin or lock. Class III, IV and V hitches use the thicker 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin or lock. For your Class I accessory, I typically recommend a stainless locking hitch pin, like part # 40106.

  • How To Choose Correct Ball Mount for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch
In order to choose the correct ball mount you need to measure the distance from the ground to the top inside edge of the trailer hitch and then subtract the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler while the trailer is level. If the vehicle is higher than the trailer you need a drop but if it's lower you'll need a rise. I have attached a full list of ball mount options below for a 1-1/4" trailer hitch.

  • Install 3593 draw bar in the up or down position on a 2005 Honda Element
The orientation your Class I Drawbar, part 3593 will depend on the height of the trailer coupler. With the trailer level, measure from the coupler down to the ground. This is the approximate height you'll need the trailer ball to be. You'll want to install the drawbar so that the trailer ball is as close to this height as possible. Due to the fairly low bumper height of the Element, you'll probably need to install it in the 'up' position.

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Ball Mount
I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch while on level ground. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is on level ground. Next, you will need to compute the difference. If the hitch height is...

  • Is There a Standard Required Clearance for Ball Mount to Vehicle Bumper
There really isn't a specific range for what you are asking about. You basically want the trailer to be able to move as you turn without interfering with the vehicle bumper. Normally that's not an issue and what people end up more concerned with is the correct rise drop. Having the hitch opening recessed 3 inches is pretty standard for towing applications. Ball mounts typically stick out around 9 inches or so which gives the trailer plenty of clearance to pivot around.

  • Why Can't Class II Accessories Be Used with Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver
Both Class I and Class II trailer hitches have the same 1-1/4 inch receiever opening, however a Class II hitch will have higher towing and tongue weight capacities. The primary issue with using a Class II accessory in a Class I hitch is that many Class I hitch receivers actually have a built-in tab/stopper inside the receiver that physically prevent a Class II accessory from fitting. Trailer hitch manufacturers do this in order to keep a Class I hitch from being overloaded, since a Class...

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Ball Mount for 2015 Honda Civic
The best way to determine which amount of rise or drop you need from a ball mount (in order to keep your hitched trailer level for the best handling) is to measure as outlined in the linked article. Since the same wheel size could have more than one tire size on it that does not give you the best method for choosing a ball mount. • Why Won't My 1-1/4 inch Ball Mount Slide Into a Class I Hitch
It sounds like you have a Class I hitch and are trying to use a Class II drawbar with it. Class I hitches are designed to do exactly what you are trying to do, prevent the use of a Class II accessory by not letting the holes line up. This is to prevent overloading the hitch. I attached an FAQ on hitch classifications for you to check out also. The correct ball mount to use with your Draw Tite Hitch part # 24915 would be the Sportframe Draw Bar part # 3593.

  • What is the Correct Ball Mount for a Draw-Tite Trailer hitch # 24815
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24815, is a Class I trailer hitch. Only Class I accessories will fit. The reason is that Class I trailer hitches have a built in stop that will only allow Class I accessories so you do not accidentally overload the hitch. You can see this stop in the 4th picture on the product page. Also, with any Class I or II trailer hitch, you must use the ball mount recommended by the trailer hitch manufacturer otherwise you will void the warranty. The correct ball mount...

The recommended ball mount is Sportframe Drawbar # 3593 that has a 2-1/8 inch rise or a 2-3/4 inch drop. Its important that you only use this ball mount in the rise position otherwise you will void the warranty.
