Question:

You said "The carrier weighs 29 lbs, so you will still have a carrying capacity of 171 lbs maximum with this combination", but the specs say it has a max carrying capacity of 300lbs. Please clarify.

On your 2015 Toyota Corolla, the Draw-Tite # 24913 hitch receiver hitch pin hole will be 2 inches recessed from the outermost part of the bumper. The 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18145 is 7-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier, so it will fit and give you 5-1/4 inches clearance. The carrier weighs 29 lbs, so you will still have a carrying capacity of 171 lbs maximum with this combination.

Absolutely. The tongue weight rating of the trailer hitch # 24913 is 200 lbs, so even though the carrier # C18145 has a capacity rating of 300 lbs on a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver you will be limited to the 200 lb maximum tongue weight of the trailer hitch receiver because it is the lesser of the two components. Once you subtract the weight of the carrier at 29 lbs from that total capacity, you will have 171 lbs remaining for your cargo.
