Free up the truck bed by carrying 2 bikes on an RV bumper rack. Verify you have a 4" boxed bumper or a 4"-4-1/2" bumper-mounted receiver, and plan for handlebar or spare-tire clearance; mounting above the bumper can improve ground clearance. Installation can be quick, and adding simple straps or padding helps keep bikes stable and protected on bumpy roads.
Mounting the receiver on top of the bumper can increase ground clearance. Watch steep driveways where lower setups can scrape. Check spare tire and bumper accessories for interference, and make sure the rack doesn't block your license plate.
Use extra bungees or ties to reduce movement. A web strap over a tire and around the crossbars can help prevent sway. Pad contact points like the upright post or a handgrip to avoid scuffs, and check that handlebars don't touch the camper.
