RV Steps with fold-down, 3 steps
These fold-down step options with 3 steps give you steadier footing for getting in and out. Measure your door frame width and entry height to choose the right fit and step rise, and check screen door clearance—some installs call for minor trimming or threshold adjustments for smooth closing. Installation is straightforward and a clear upgrade over wobbly factory stairs.
Measure your door frame opening and make sure the step frame can catch the lip of the door frame. If the step is too narrow it won't hook the lip, even with adjustment. Also measure your entry height from the top of the threshold to the ground to confirm a 3-step fits your setup. Double check measurements before drilling.
Ground-contact 3-step units can reduce rocking and make entry easier, especially when the last step drop felt too big before. You can add a handrail for extra support, but in some setups a fixed rail can limit loading space, so pick a removable style if needed. A locking storage box can replace the old step bay for extra storage.
It's the distance between each step. Pick the rise that matches your entry height so the top landing sits level and your door clears. Measure entry height from the top of the doorway threshold to the ground. If you're between sizes, check that the legs can adjust to level the landing without making the door scrape.
