Tow up to 14,000 lbs with the safety and convenience of the adjustable 8" drop and 8" rise on the EZ Hitch ball mount system. Turn the ball mount over to select a drop or rise. After the ball mount has been installed on your vehicle, just pull the included pin to adjust the combo ball up or down or to flip the combo ball between the 2" or 2-5/16" hitch ball as needed. Replace the pin, and you're ready to tow. The ball mount fits 2" square trailer hitches and is a great solution for those who tow several different trailers.

Keeping your trailer level with your tow vehicle makes it easier and safer to tow. If your trailer is more than 2" nose up, it will sway during towing - increasing tire wear and making your ride less comfortable. Lots of sway makes it harder to drive your vehicle. If the trailer is more than 2" nose down, the load may put too much weight on the hitch and tow vehicle, exceeding the weight limit for both. This puts too much stress on the connection between your trailer and hitch and doesn't leave enough weight on your front wheels, affecting your ability to steer and brake properly. An adjustable ball mount system makes it easy to keep whatever you tow as level as possible.

Just did ~500miles with about 5k worth of car plus trailer over hill and dale.

Works great. No detectable wobbling, but pins are easy to get through holes (not too tight or misaligned). Heavy, but not like, completely unwieldy.

by:

This Hitch does the job perfectly for all my trailers keeping in the upright position and did not notice any excessive rattle..

by:

Perfect for Suburban. Will store in rear storage tray

by:

This is an outstanding line of products and not only did I receive my product in a timely manner but it was packaged nicely and very professionally. After using my new product it seems to be everything I paid for . Upon requiring another product that E trailer carries I will definitely be purchasing from them again.

Overall it is a great hitch that serves it purpose. Initially I was very impressed with the build quality and heavy duty construction of the hitch. However, there a few issues that I have with the hitch after using it for a little over a year. Below are my pros and cons.

Pros
1. Built out of heavy duty materials
2. Lots of height adjustment for a variety of trailers
3. The two pin design allows the ball mount to fit snugly in the adjustment sleeve and doesn't allow much side to side or up and down movement.

Cons
1. The pin hole in the hitch is pretty far back on the shaft of the receiver. This makes it so that the hitch sticks out farther than I would prefer in my receiver and allows a good amount of "wiggle" or play up and down. It would be nice if the hole would have been drilled 1/2"-1" further back
2. The finish does not stand up. I keep this hitch under the back seat of my truck until I need it, then it is on my truck for only as long as the trailer is on (usually only a day), and then it goes back under the seat of m truck. I have had it on my truck for 1 or 2 rainy days and one or two snowy days and it is already starting to rust through the powder coat on all the black parts. The ball assembly is also starting to dull and look like it has a layer of corrosion on it.

Overall it serves it's intended purpose and works good but the longevity of the finish is concerning, especially sine this hitch spends the majority of it's time in my back seat and not exposed to the elements. I wouldn't want to think what it would look like if I just left it on all the time. I am also not a big fan of slop in my hitches. I like all my towing connections to as tight as possible.

The hitch still serves its intended purpose but there are still things that I do not like about it. I do not like how a hitch that is stored inside the truck under the back seat and has only seen weather rain and snow only a handful of times is starting to show rust through the powder coat and the polished parts are showing corrosion. If I were to buy a new hitch today I do not know if I would buy this hitch again. I would most likely look at some other options.

by:

Heavy duty hitch, has done everything it's been asked to do.

by:

Well made and very easy to install, use. As good as this product is, I am adding a hitch lock and a ball lock (to replace the two cotter pins that keep the balk in place) so that it doesn’t “walk away”.

Perfectly. Have used it numerous times for heavy loads and has not failed yet. I would still like to see it come with theft proof cotter pins

by:

I tow 4 different trailers and this makes it easy to tow all of them level. Works great. Good solid hitch.

Great

by:

Fits great on 2021 Tundra, love the sturdiness and adjustability ... I haven't towed with it yet however I foresee no issues.

by:

We’ve had this hitch for a year now. We’ve pulled everything from a 3000 lb empty horse trailer to a 12000 lb dump trailer. I’m very happy with the way it functions. Easy to adjust, no rusting and less free play than my last adjustable height hitch.

Like anything, with more moving parts, more parts move. So it doesn’t feel the same as a non-adjustable hitch but isn’t sloppy, either. And for all the trailers we have/ pull for friends, adjustability is critical which this hitch does well.

by:

Purchase it one year ago and used to pull a motor cycle trailer, a landscape trailer, and a car hauler towing up to 7,000 lbs. Great versatility with ball size and height. I purchased this unit because from the photos and description, it seemed to be the highest quality at the best price. There may be some better adjustable rise, variable ball size, mounts out there but the cost is significantly greater when this unit is plain, simple, more than strong/study enough, and accomplishes the goal.

by:

This is the best hitch I have ever owned. I can pull anything I want knowing that it is safe and secure behind me. I love the ability to adjust the ball height and size to adapt to the particular trailer I am pulling at that time. No more multiple hitches for different trailers.

by:

Really like the hitch. Changes ball size easily and plenty sturdy. Only thing I wish I did different is get the 2 1/2” shank instead of the 2” for my Ram 2500 Cummins. I bought the hitch so it would also fit my son’s Ram 1500. I have to use a 2” to 2 1/2” sleeve and it’s a little sloppy. No fault of the hitch though.

by:

Great product,i have stock ram 2500 that sits highier than other pick ups,and couse that I was looking for adjustable hitch. I have pulled 14,000lb trailer without any problems. The adjustment are great so u can excacly set ur height to trailer. I would recomend this to everyone

by:

It is the last ball hitch i will ever need covers all the high and low hock ups. and i used fine thread bolts with lock nuts then know one will want to walk away with it. Good heavy duty hitch.

by:

Our newest company truck is a Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 4x4. With more than six trailers to tow, we needed a lot of vertical adustment and a very stout ball mount to take advantage of the truck's towing capacity. This mount offers the largest range of vertical adjustment I could find while still providing an impressive 10,000 and 14,000 lb capacity respectively for the 2" and 2-5/16" balls. Great fit, finish and construction. We hauled our first trailer load of product back from one of our manufacturers within hours of recieveing the mount this morning. Very happy with this product.

by:

Works great. Used by 5 different drivers/trucks of varying heights to tow 3 different trailers.

Still works great!!

by:

So far so good. Received a surprise early delivery of a toy hauler this weekend. Today I took it down to a storage space so I had to assemble and use the hitch on top of a bare hill at the end of the street with a temperature of 15 and 20mph winds with falling snow. It went together easily and adjustment was simple too. Just have to fine tune it on a bit nicer day. Only the one short haul part way across town, but looking forward to many longer ones to come.

by:

This hitch is great. I always have the right size and height. I tow a lot of different trailers and I don't have to remember which size ball or drop I need.

by:

I am pleased with the process of ordering from etrailer.com and the product I received. The hitch I ordered is exactly what I needed and appears to be manufactured very well. The shipping process and communication from etrailer.com was refreshing too. 5 days from order to receipt. Happy customer!

by:

Recently purchased the adjustable 8" drop hitch, AM3298. Was surprised with the weight of the hitch and definitely built heavy duty. Own three different trailers with different heights so this hitch will meet all my applications. Very pleased with this product.

by:

I have several trailers, all requiring individual ball mounts to accommodate different ball sizes, weight ratings and tongue heights. This mount will allow me to tow everything with the same mount. I have ordered many items from etrailer with great results. Items arrive quickly, selection and pricing are very good. They are my first (and usually last) vendor when I need trailer parts and accessories.

I've had this hitch for a year and it has served me well. I had previously bent 2 other style drop hitches, this one has so far held up great.

hitch with an awesome tow rating at a great price! Very heavy duty!

  • Are Locking Pins Available for EZ Heavy Duty Adjustable Ball Mount with Combo Ball # AM3298
I went out to the warehouse and pulled EZ Heavy Duty Adjustable Ball Mount with Combo Ball # AM3298 to measure. The pins that hold the ball portion to the shank are just under 3/4 inches in diameter. We do not have a locking pin this size. For the shank you would just need a regular locking hitch pin, # 7683

  • Recommended Ball Mount for Toyota Tundra with 6 Inch Lift
With your Toyota Tundra rated to tow 11,000 lbs, you can get a ball mount that meets or exceeds that weight, but you will also be limited by whatever your trailer hitch receiver is rated for. The lesser of those 3 numbers is what your gross towing capacity will be. Based on your 6 inch lift, I'd recommend an adjustable ball mount with at least an 8 inch drop. If you have a 2 inch receiver, then I'd suggest the EZ Heavy Duty Adjustable Hitch with Combo Ball, # AM3298. This hitch has a...

  • What is the Difference Between the 3300 and 3400 Series Ball Mounts from Anderson
The 3300 series from Anderson, like part # AM3298, has a powder coat finish and is made of steel. The 3400 series, like part # AM3411, is made of aluminum so it have a better looking finish and will not rust. Another difference is that the 3300 series tends to be for more of a heavy-duty application because they can handle more weight. The 3400 series can handle weight up to 10,000 lbs so it cannot be used for as heavy-duty applications. I spoke with my contact at Anderson who confirmed this.
