Changing Ball Height and Replacing Balls

Re-insert the pins once you have found the correct height. Switching the hitch ball is just as easy. Simply remove the pins holding the ball platform in place and slide the platform off of the shank. Flip the platform upside down so that the ball you want to use is on top. Then slide the ball platform back onto the shank and replace the pins and clips.

  • Can I use Anti-Rattle Clamps on the Moving Parts
The Flash Solid Steel Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch part # FA49-00-5900 itself is pretty solid at those points on the when compared to something like the MaxxTow adjustable mount which seems to be very loose fitting. For the adjustable ball portion there isn't a good anti rattle device that will work. or the connection point to the hitch you can use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches part # RM-061 this is my favorite anti rattle because it is rock solid. • Adjustable Ball Mount that Can Do 13 inches of Drop
Thanks for the dimension info you listed for your hitch height and coupler height. Based on that you need a drop of 13 inches for your trailer to be towed level which the # FA49-00-5900 does not have ability to do since it can only do a drop of up to 10 inches. The closest option we have to the ball mount you referenced that has enough drop would be the BulletProof Hitches Adjustable Ball Mount # HD2014.

  • How to Choose the Correct Ball Mount for a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500
In order to find the correct ball mount for your 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 you are going to need to measure from the ground to the top of the inside edge on your truck's trailer hitch receiver tube opening and then compare that to the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer while level. The difference between these two measurements will give you the correct amount of rise/drop you need to look for in a ball mount which I have attached a list of for you. If your...

  • Compatibility Of Flash Steel Adjustable Ball Mount With UFP A-160 Surge Coupler On Boat Trailer
Yes, the Flash Solid Steel Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA49-00-5900 will have enough clearance for the UFP A-160 surge coupler on your new boat trailer. While the head of this surge coupler does look longer than others, the ball sleeve is in the very front of the head. I recommend using the Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin Lock Set # FA86-00-4200 to secure the hitch and adjustable ball to your tow vehicle. This will help prevent someone from stealing this ball mount and allow you to keep it...

  • How are Hitch Balls Secured to Mount on Flash Solid Steel Adjustable Ball Mount
I reached out to the manufacturer who said the hitch balls on the Flash Solid Steel Adjustable Ball Mounts are a solid piece that has a bolt running through it inside the mount. What this means is that there is zero chance of it coming apart while you are towing your trailer. Simply abide by the capacities of the hitch and it is extremely safe. There are a number of Flash Solid Steel Ball Mounts, each of which comes with a 2" and 2-51/6" hitch balls and the correct one for your needs will...

It is the best option for your 2-1/2 inch receiver that will give you a drop that will work well for your trailer. • How Much Drop Is Needed to Tow a Trailer With a 19 Ram 1500 That Has a 6 Lift?
Choosing the correct amount of drop for your ball mount will depend on a few things. First, with the tow vehicle parked on level ground, you will need to measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. Next, with the trailer level, measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. You will then subtract the coupler measurement from the hitch measurement. This will get you the amount of drop needed to tow the trailer as level as possible. With all that being said,...
