This shank looks well made, which is why I purchased it. However, it arrived looking like it had been through a war zone. It’s scratched and beaten and chipped everywhere to the point that I doubt it all occurred during shipping. See pictures, that’s the shank right out of the box. I imagine most of this damage came from poor material handling either before or at etrailer. Will it work? Yes, absolutely. Does it look good? No. Will it rust? Yes, in the spots where bare metal is exposed. If you want a shank that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing you may want to purchase another brand or from another distributor or be willing to touch up/repaint it. My honest review.

We do have an anti-rattle device that you can use. It is part # GY88XR and will basically act like the shim you have referenced.
