Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to replace this dual ball mount for your CURT Channel Style Ball Mounts. So, it's going to be a direct replacement for a variety of different adjustable ball mounts that CURT offers. This channel style is what it's meant to work with where it'll slide in and be adjustable with the height. Now, this replacement doesn't include the pins that actually pin it in place, so if you do need replacements for those you'll have to pick up separate pins on our site.
I'd strongly recommend some locking pins, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem because it does utilize a standard 5/8 inch pin and clip. So you can find those pretty easily, and find ones that will fit your application if you need them. Otherwise, just reuse the ones that came with your ball mount. As we pull this outta the channel you can see the original one has this rubber stopper on the back to act like an anti-rattle device, keeping that shake and play to a minimum in this adjustment channel. And the replacement one shares that exact same stopper.
So you don't have to worry about replacing that, and you can trust that it's gonna keep things a little bit more silent when we're going down the road. And, as you can see, it'll just pin right into place where that old one was. It shares the same zinc finish on there to help it resist rust and corrosion. And the weight capacities remain the same too. 10,000 pounds on the two-inch ball, and 14,000 pounds on the 2 5/16 ball.
And that's really all there is to it. It's a really simple part to replace. And, like I said, if you need to replace those pins you can upgrade to some locking pins while you're at it to keep it safe. And it's really simple because if that part where your trailer hooks up to becomes damaged, you don't have to replace the whole ball mount. You can keep the part in your hitch the same and just replace the ball to get a nice, clean, new one, and make sure that you've got a solid connection with your trailer.
But, that'll do it today for our look at this replacement dual ball setup for your CURT Adjustable Ball Mounts. Thanks for watching.
